i would expect any terrier on my yard to stay to ground and work all the game in the earth .... i wouldnt expect to dig to the dog and him come away knowing there is something else at home .... now whether i would re enter the dog depends on the time of the first dig and the punishment the dog has taken .... if the dog had been to ground for 2 hours + and had taken some stick then after the first dig he would be lifted and a fresh experienced dog would be entered ... if the dig was a quick half hour then he would be allowed to work on ..........

ok let me explain if you are confused about NATURAL muscle :11: ... this comes from exercising your dog naturarly ie walks letting the dogs run together swimming etc etc .... as opposed to BUILT muscle where a flypole has been used or tyre dragging etc etc .... in other words if you feed well and convert the amount of food into muscle steadily and progressively then you will have a dog with NATURAL muscle .... as for lactic acid build up and cramps then yes of course this may occcure ... but it will happen far far sooner to a dog with built up muscle rather than one that is natural .... as fo

a couple of months ago on one of the greyhound sites i started posting the progress of my new greyhound that was in training .... now for some reason a lot of the members seemed to think that i was working this pup to hard and they were quoting this injury and that injury etc etc .... me being me f****d them off and just got on with my training programm that i had devised for this pup .... well the pup is barely 17 months old and last night won his first race in a realy good time ... this is only the second race this pup has been in ..... the whole point to this thread is this ..... if we take

a mink is a great deal bigger than a ferret and they look a lot different ..... they are both members of the mustelid family but cannot be interbred ............

this dog is 25 lbs of muscle and is the hardest working terrier that i have ever owned ... he can get anywhere and will work for hours .... what you have to remeber is that there is different types of muscle ... now without getting into the science of training i will explain it in laymans terms .... if you feed your dog well and work him hard whether it be to ground or regular natural exercise then the dog will mass on NATURAL muscle .... this muscle will not suffer from lactic acid build up nor will it cramp ... in addition the dog will be a lot more flexible and be able to turn and twist his
