    Done it a few times, went out to early ground hard dog runs sound, let it out of kennel in morning and it's lame, mate blaging me to go lamping at the mo , even my mrs says this time of year it's called limping!

    Watched a programme about the Welsh sheepdog the other night, anybody used one as a lurcher cross ? Collie brains but bit more natural hunting?

    Bought this book and took it on holiday for a read, I've read a lot of. Books over the years on lurchers and the authors experiences with them, I was very impressed with this book and could tell it was genuine, maybe t he best book I've read on lurchers and terriers, not bought in ready made dogs like a lot of them do now but creating what suits her from selective breeding over decades, alrounders are hard to get but she bred a good few, fair play.

    It is actually against the law to kill a mouse with a dog they are covered in the hunting act not if flushed to gun by no more than 2 hounds like!

Triggers already said he took the opportunity and stacked the odds in favour of his pup it's these llottle things that are the difference between some handlers living breathing there animals knowing and knowing when it's coming home a winner the pups probably dreamt those litltle catches over and over and will do until his next little conquest.i am afraid there's very few handlers that come up to scratch and have that little bit something else I believe trigg has it end off he has been schooled where it matters from a bairn in the fields and woods.speed who mentioned speed lol they're feckin

    I bought a sprocker to use as a bushing dog with the lurcher and I found out that it takes a lot more training to use a spaniel properly , I have spent a lot of hours training it as a gun dog which I have enjoyed doing, it is by no means the finished article but its in my eyes doing very well, I will use it this season on shoots gradually doing a bit more as it learns, the thing I am thinking is will I be able to use it with lurchers as well or will it maybe ruin it as a gun dog,stoping to flush and picking up etc, anyone do both to a high standard or is it one or the other?

    I've seen dogs entered to early mine included, yap ,yap , gutted, never again, why over match a pup that's going to do the job when mature physically and mentally? Not worth the risk in my eyes

    Had 7 chicks out of 1 pair of siskins , think I will call it a day now as feathers moulting on adults, anyone ever had siskins with white rings round there necks before?
