they arent just a out and out rabbit dog some do make decent alrounders same could be said for alot of half crosses mate,but there good and bad in most half crosses as well,

depends mate on what your hunting,nothing wrong with beddy cross,if your strictly a rabbit man,seen some good ones and some shite ones.alot depends on who has them in my opinion

i think you wont go far wrong with any of the mentioned engines,but the 2.8 is a good lump,ive just fitted a 3.1 isuzu to a defender,great power .but a bit thirtsy,compared to the 2.8,but the landys engine are good on fuel.but with the auto box.you could be lacking power to be honest with any of the 2.5 engines

cant say alot about navaras,but ive fitted most types of engines to landrovers ,from toyotas to isuzu,does yours have ECU,is it auto or manual,so long as you stick with your origional gearbox most engines can be fitted good,you may need engine gearbox conversion adapter plate,

try some east start fluid in the air intake,just get a mate to turn the engine over,and you squit some in ,not to much ,cause you could bring up the compression to high,wait a few and try again,if this does not work,get the b*****d on to a computer,any good garage will have one,it should point the direction of your problem
