  1. Well lads I"ve been away from the site for a while for various reasons but I always look forward to my EDRD magazine,in last months issue there was a very good article entitled It Takes Two by J Darcy and even though I"m not a big fan it was a good read with some good pictures. If only all dog men were as honest,I"ve had my failures in the dog game as I"m sure many of you have however most wont admit it. Think thats it!!
  2. I had a greyhound/colliegreyhound x saluki 26" and the best all round dog I"ve ever owned, took everything you put in front of him and could distinguish between things that bite back and those that dont. He lived to 14 and never killed a rabbit all where retrieved live to hand, hares generally were dead and everything else he mullered. Terrific prey drive and great nose---pretty certain he"d have gone through fire for me.
  3. B complex, kids multi vits and codliver oil
  4. REAL FEN MEN ,DO YOU KISS THEIR ARSEHOLES.AS FOR ENTERTAINMENT ,YOU DONT GET MUCH BETTER THAN A GROVELLING c**t LIKE YOU . Never even been to a "Fen", I run my dogs up here in Northumberland. You seem a pretty angry person. You probably know me, but you are a jelous individual who can't express themselves in real life, but are very hard behind a computer screen ! GET SOME PROFESSIONAL HELP !! I feel sorry for you ! FUKING HELL MATE ARE YOU A FORTUNE TELLER AS WELL AS A SHEEP SHAGGER am back .. guess you wont be buying a saluki pup in the near future then!! NO PROBLEMS WI
  5. Good on you for taking her in and looking after her BUT I hope she gets back to her owners
  6. As above have said I"d sooner see a pup well covered, he"s still got some growing to do,just dont let him get fat and theres plenty of time to think about weight and conditioning etc
  7. Thats an excellent painting mate, sorry to hear she got nicked in the end though
  8. Mate I think everyone who breeds a litter of pups goes through this, they phone up and are so genuine and then often have tales of woe when it comes to or you never hear from them again
  9. would whippet +collie + GREYHOUND be a better cross     They are capable of taking fox single handed however if I"d been hunting fox as my main quarry I would have wanted something with a bit more beef to it
  10. Many young running dogs will overshoot etc to start, they learn with experience
  11. Just keep at it,he"s only a pup yet and has got some maturing/growing to do yet
  12. I"ve allways liked my dogs to lose a bit of condition through the summer months as I think the rest allows the body to heal those little niggles that your probably not even aware of and then start to bring them back up at the end of summer
  13. where are you from lads and I"ll let my mate know and see what he says. thanks for your replies
  14. I think preferably pure whippet as he fancies keeping the size down a bit and more chance with a ped I suspect
  15. A pal of mine is looking for a whippet/saluki or whippet/saluki x whippet pup in the near future and I"m wondering if anybody on here has any planned litters or current litters of this breeding. Thanks for looking rolysmate
  16. Experience!!!!!! When he"s been a time or two and learns to look down the beam
  17. no one saying there so good / more of a case of there not that bad/ singlehanded I think Tom has answered your question, to be honest the more people who believe the urban myths about these dogs the better as it keeps the messers and dog swappers away, becoming too popular could really be a bad thing
  18. Aye there tidy little dogs, I first looked at getting one 25 years ago as I did a bit with a lad at that time that had a couple and I was impressed with them but only got my 1st in recent years and I bloody love em I have a lot of fun with mine, I took an old mate of mine out not so long back we used to do a fair bit with the saluki crosses before the ban and having seen mine perform in the field he was impressed and has decided that whippets are now the way to go as far as he"s concerned
  19. Can"t wait till you get the hang of that camera Tom, if ever theres a comp for taking pictures of grass I"ll win it hands down lol
  20. Pretty sure they are capable of taking a hare or two Poor feet and thin skins yet has never kept one-----another quote from a popular urban myth
