  3. Hope you get the little bitch back and quickly
  4. Try the electrolytes mate, carry a little squirty bottle and you can squirt some into her mouth between runs

  7. have seen a 16.5" whippet tackle one and a 16" bull whippet but would want to get in and finish things quick myself
  8. Nice to see the young lad out with you, got a little damp myself this morning and discovered I need some new boots
  9. Aye hope they get them back, makes you sick to the gut, had one nicked some years ago but was lucky and got him back, made things very hot for the local arseholes and two kids turned up at my door with the dog who they"d found wandering!!!!!
  10. At that age she should make a full recovery
  11. Make sure your bitch is kept active/fit before whelping as this will help both with the whelping and getting back to fitness, after my current bitch whelped she was back out in the field by the time the pups where weaned maybe not 100% but on her way. She was still out ferreting a week or so prior to whelping and in fact the day she whelped was actually chasing squirrels in the local park.
  12. Best of luck with her mate, I"m sure you"ll have fun
  13. Keep at it, when things go wrong its always good to go back to basics
  14. Had a dog nicked many years ago and thankfully I got him back after knocking on a few doors and using a bit of persuasion BUT ever since then I"ve kept a keen dog running free on the yard 24/7
  15. Had a ride out to a spot Sunday and when we got there nearly all the crops where still standing!!!!!
  16. My young bitch was just the same even a 5 minute ride to the park and she was foaming at the mouth but I just persivered with short journeys bit by bit building it up and now at 10 months no problem at all
  17. He was invited to release his dog!!! I can only assume he knew there was chance of one being flushed to the guns and wanted to let the lads dog prove itself with its retrieving
  18. Didn"t pick up on the feeding bit, assumed you meant when you got home
  19. A little cur dog with a touch of whippet in him called Sandy he lived on the local estate but we never knew who owned him, he just started coming out with us on our wanderings in the fields bird nesting etc and he caught rabbits, that was it me and my mate where hooked, we got ourselves a ferret not really knowing what we were doing but we learned lol
  20. better than being out robbing and rioting like these half wits living in cities, keep at it mate watch your back and good luck to you It"s grand to know there are young lads out there coming into the sport and doing the things we used to do, its just a shame we live in the times that we do when you have to be looking over your shoulder whilst carrying out such traditional country pursuits. Before you know it it"ll be illegal to pick mushrooms
  21. try either backing off from her as shes coming into you whilst encouraging her to come in or the complete opposite and walk forward to her giving PLENTY of praise when the bunnies in your hand, I"ve used and had success with both tactics
