Just to be clear mate im not talking about loose line breeding which is what i think you are suggesting......im talking about a complete outcross of 2 inbred families of dogs....as in the sire will have no shared genetic heritage with the dam whatsoever but they are inbred dogs of their respective lines......i think within gamedogs anyway it can create a complete explosion of the genes.

Are Bristol Rovers relevant to The Premiership ?.....no they are relevant to the First Division.....im done you crack on Mr Mayfield.
-
It has its place mate.....as the descendants of that dog and other areas of his family who were even more inbred are testament to ?.....again though,runners...i have no idea or opinion.
-
Until recently id never owned or had part ownership of a Staffordshire Bull Terrier in my life i know very little about the breed and thought it might be nice to look at that museum.......but whatever you say keyboard coward.
-
Not a bad looker for an inbred dog was he ?.....he was 20" odd at the shoulder and mid to high 40's as i recall....produced some good dogs and got his Register of Merit title so the tool of inbreeding is proven ?
-
He was a Limey bred dog but East End's owned.

What the f**k are you babbling on about you f****n lunch !....you posted the names of 100 odd Staffordshire Bull Terriers......what was the relevance ?........whats wrong aint you getting enough attention you f****n pilchard.

Naturally you're going to want a competition dog with plenty of hybrid vigour so you dont want them too tight but to fall on a great dog from outcrossed scatterbred dogs you're going to have to raise and school more dogs than we can keep in this country so for me the best and most consistent performing dogs usually came from the outcrossing of 2 inbred families of dogs.....only my opinion like.

The theory doesnt always work though ive got more than a few scars to prove it ?...had to have microsurgery to save the use of my thumb down to a son of this evil orange eyed c**t !!

In my opinion mate most people aggressive dogs have something missing its just a matter of finding out what it is before you invest time in them....some people believe human aggressive bulldogs to be a sign of being a cur....hence,many of them get ruined before their career is even started by an owner who nearly rolls the life out of the dog just to make sure he's going to be worth the risk !.....so yes.....in my opinion a manny dog who survives his game test is more often than not a special dog.....but only for that reason, nothing to do with fearlessness/aggression/madness or any of that crap

Even back in the 80's there were plenty of 5 figure bets even between one man band types, the match in Holland between 2 of the best bitches in Europe in around 96/97 was 2 single owners for 50k a side.....obviously where you have a " team/kennels " it will go up to 6 figures all chopped up between them, but you'll usually find the best matches are between your average 2 lads matching for the price of a keep....its a far more honest match between genuine sportsman with a simple love of dogs and the sport.

Hello mate like i said before my theory was that it wasnt good to keep a bulldog too fit all year round so for the majority of the year a simple maintenance type kibble.....as long as the dog was clean inside and out, healthy etc you didnt want a dog too fit with no match date to aim at....but as soon as you did have a match date the work began and your pre keep started with a change over to raw and the leanest cuts of meat to start off with so lean and organ meats for the protein but protein requires energy for the dog to digest and assimilate/make energy which is where fueling with fats and t

They were few and far between on the whole mate, most of them you could get around with some basic patience and kindness....the black dog i posted a picture of earlier in the thread was an absolute gentleman but the line he was from were notorious for being hard on people he had a littermate who was diabolical the first few weeks i had him he just couldnt be touched by anyone except his owner he would hit the end of his chain and it was clear he wanted to do you.....but put in a pen and sat next to him for hours on end talking to him, touching him through the mesh and generally showing him love

They are all Staffordshire Bull Terriers, every single one of them..............this is a topic about APBT's.

Like i said mate if it works for you then stick with it ? Drying out is considered a thing of the past it was done to raise the red blood cell count/haemoglobin....when the body pulls away from water and starts to dehydrate, the blood concentrates meaning more haemoglobin go's through to the lungs to cool off and back through the body to cool it down and stop the dog overheating.....in todays times with more knowledge etc its about water " management "....so during the tapering down at the end of a keep the dog will drink less and less some days he doesnt drink at all thats how you know he

They will be in amazing condition for the task set mate yes and every respect to lads such as yourself in getting them there......but its just not realistic to compare that to a peaked out bulldog who even if he came out of his match relatively unscathed will be lucky to be able to break out into a trot for a few days the expenditure of everything you built up over the last 2/3 months is gone.....a running dog is " kept " at a high level of fitness....a bulldog cannot be " kept " for anymore than a few hours at the level of fitness he is matched at,on weight alone.....a dog weighed in at 40 lb

Agreed....it doesnt make sense to me that folk putting their hard earned money on good dogs wouldnt develop an understanding of what creates them. Re Max,before he became a complete mong ? we exchanged a few thoughts on the subject and without wanting to take a cheap swipe at the lad,it was clear to me his basic understanding of physiology and biomechanics etc was nowhere near the level of top dog matchers but horses for courses different sports and im sure he knows enough about his own game to do well no problem......again i dont think the connection between gamedog fitness and running d

When i said about how dogs acclimate i meant in terms of protein/fat/carb etc ratios as opposed to raw or kibble but yes i get what you're saying......the " shock " you talk about was always a contentious issue in gamedogs you had those who maybe only kept 1 or 2 dogs and kept them at a high level of fitness year round....and then you had those who had multiple dogs and woulld keep them healthy but out of shape until a match was made.....some people felt that the dog fitter to start with had the advantage as he was halfway there kind of thing but my opinion was always that the " shock " you de

You's are all having a discussion about how to not get killed by spades in our own country......see how it works !

Might be a bit of a berk in many ways but just a straight up good lad in my opinion....grounded,proud,a credit to his parents and his area good on him.

Lovely looking hound mate looks really well....but this is where i just cant see the connection between gamedog knowledge and running dog knowledge you are looking for a high level of general health and fitness where bulldog folk are looking for a one time peak at a very specific weight....the last part of a bulldogs keep is far from a safe place for the dog as his hydration level is at a bare minimum, body fat is low and blood counts are in the extreme.....he's in amazing physical condition but not completely healthy. Bulldog folk dont feed a dog for good general health thats where the pr

Possibly mate i dont know enough about running dogs or have enough experience of them to answer really.....it would be such a different goal nutritionally though i dont really see the connection but of course all knowledge helps. With bulldogs it was a combination of strength/power/endurance/toughness/stamina on a single moment of a single day so supplement wise its all geared up towards a high red cell count naturally....of course dogs dont use carbs like we do fat is the main energy source so reading Mchull say he doesnt feed a sporting dog raw i find quite amazing in all honesty and if

The front leg vein would always be priority, if that was down you'd go to a rear leg and worse case scenario into the jugular ( if you know what you're doing )....a vein could be collapsed due to low blood pressure/blood loss from a bleeder etc the first priority with hv shock is restoring an effective circulating blood volume so Vit K injectible to help with clotting and once your iv is set 5cc of Azium into a bag of fluids....these days they use Solu Delta Cortef as its still anti shock/anti inflam but stronger,an intra muscular anti biotic injection and another 3cc Azium under the skin and

Wouldnt like to say who has " the best " dogs as such but from what im told in Europe yes Russia and the Balkans seem to be doing well with their conditioning but are still behind with their understanding of breeding....obviously relaxed laws and being able to keep huge yards of dogs all helps.... id still say places like South America/Ecuador etc if push came to shove are the most competitive areas with most titled dogs/roms etc

We was feeding raw before raw was really a thing in dogs just from basic understanding of nutrition....of course supplements played their part also and at the extreme end juice but yes very few people were matching dogs on dog food as such even back then.
