  1. I get what you're saying my point was that both wrestling and boxing are " used " far more in mma than true martial arts....bjj probably plays more of a role than any martial art so the original point that Karate has its place within the confines of a real fight doesnt stack up. For clarity ive never taken a blind bit of notice when it comes to martial arts and have no interest in it whatsoever for the reasons ive already explained its only that upon realising years ago that my flexibility and suppleness had suffered over the years i started doing a bit of Yoga which i really like, well th
  2. Must admit it does get funny watching or listening to groupie type fans i was chatting to a geezer who has always been one of these Fury fan girl types,he piped up giving it " Joshua tapped his way to a boring points win over Ruiz " and " Usyk tapped his way to a boring points win over Joshua "...........yet when Fury tapped his way to the most boring points win in heavyweight history against Klitschko it was a masterful display of boxing ?....it must be such hard work being the fan of a fighter instead of just a fight fan ! The reality is Fury has done great at what he does he was never
  3. Thats what happens when literally anyone can set themself up as a " dog rescue "....you get some deranged little old woman who loves dogs charging you money to finance her madness.
  4. Dont know if i can face the French winning 2 world cups in a row we'll never hear the last of it.....then again i dont really want the Argies to win either....hopefully the stadium falls down !
  5. I remember my son in law welding up a load of old car/bike bits over a boring weekend....made it into some mad looking robot, next thing they're being sold commercially for a monkey a go ?
  6. Blimey what a violent bunch of people....just as well ive led such a scrupulously clean life or i might of had a regret or two As for getting clumped by an ex world champion boxer in a pub toilet ?....all sounds a bit far fetched to me ive heard that one so many times over the years the ex boxer usually turns out to be a womans handbag or something ?
  7. That upcycling larks all trendy these days....you'll pay a fortune now for a dining room table made out of pallets !
  8. Starting to melt now, every 5 minutes i think i can hear someone f****n about in the garden but ive sussed out its great big chunks of snow falling out the trees ?
  9. Why do you keep arguing a different point to whats being debated....." Karate " itself as a martial art has never been used succesfully in mma.
  10. Jeet Kune Do is primarily a philosophy of life and physical transcendence, many people read Bruce Lee's writings and confuse reading it with understanding it very little of it was about " fighting " as such but more about exploring the edges of human potential..........in terms of mma/ufc it could just as easily be argued that wrestling/boxing are both more effective than true martial arts....hence the original point that " Karate " itself was found wanting as an option in a real fight.
  11. Yes but whats that got to do with Karate ?.....Ufc itself was originally about finding out " what works " in a real fight......and Karate has never or will ever be used, proofs in the pudding.
  12. Possibly who knows.....point is Chisora is a bigger name than many higher ranked fighters while being much less of a threat....thats why Fury fought him again.
  13. You're just embarrassing yourself mate ?
  14. Some performance from Messi there tonight...hard to see anyone but the Argies lifting the trophy now,be a nice way to end his career.
  15. Plummer it was mate had to bin him off he had a go at my mrs a coupe of times so certainly didnt fancy him around the grandson....shame really but stick to what you know i suppose.
  16. Only a red strain Stafford mate just a little countryside companion.
  17. Agreed,i was only talking to a pal about this incident earlier i was saying words to the effect of " what were kids so young doing out on their own "....he just looked at me and laughed...." think of some of the mad shit we was doing at that age "......brought it home really, here we all are moaning kids are stuck behind computer screens all day yet we still give off when they're out and about enjoying the outdoors......accidents happen sadly.....tragic,my heart go's out to them parents.
  18. Remind me again why i moved out of the concrete jungle ! Really enjoyable few days me and the grandson knocking about like a couple of kids who didnt want to come in for tea ?
  19. You're just talking silly mate......if you dont understand what you're looking at theres nothing much more i can tell you.
  20. Apart from Ortiz being neary 70 years old and Chisora only being 60 they've both had 2 title challenges so could be said they are about even....but the level of opposition Chisora has faced is so much higher than Ortiz id say Chisora has to be the bigger named opponent.
  21. Dicks theory was always that as long as the referee did his job the ball would be over the line before the keeper had a chance to move........im pretty sure there was only Matt Le Tissier who has a better penalty record i know Julians was 94%...Le Tissier scored i think its was 46 out of 47 !!!....unbelievable really. Saying that i remember being told another Hammer Mark Noble had the 2nd best penalties record in world football over the last 20 years.
  22. I dont think he bottled it i think he just wanted to be the big hero and take the last one....i thought it was hilarious watching him cry like a baby knowing its the only thing he had left to get attention....prick !
  23. For me Southgates time is up now he's had a good run with probaby the strongest squad we've had in 30 years and achieved nothing, despite decent stats his record against Fifa ranked teams is really poor i think it would be a tragedy if this current squad never win a major trophy.
  24. What was all that about years ago folk taking up all that hong kong fuey shit thinking it would make them a bad ass in a straightener ? For kids yes i get it,nice gentle little introduction to sport.....but grown men, always a peculiar one i thought.
