I get what you're saying my point was that both wrestling and boxing are " used " far more in mma than true martial arts....bjj probably plays more of a role than any martial art so the original point that Karate has its place within the confines of a real fight doesnt stack up. Jeet Kune Do is primarily a philosophy of life and physical transcendence,many people read Bruce Lee's writings and confuse reading it with understanding it very little of it was about " fighting " as such but more about exploring the edges of human potential..........in terms of mma/ufc it could just as easily be argued that wrestling/boxing are both more effective than true martial arts....hence the original point that " Karate " itself was found wanting as an option in a real fight.

Yes but whats that got to do with Karate ?.....Ufc itself was originally about finding out " what works " in a real fight......and Karate has never or will ever be used,proofs in the pudding.

Agreed,i was only talking to a pal about this incident earlier i was saying words to the effect of " what were kids so young doing out on their own "....he just looked at me and laughed...." think of some of the mad shit we was doing at that age "......brought it home really,here we all are moaning kids are stuck behind computer screens all day yet we still give off when they're out and about enjoying the outdoors......accidents happen sadly.....tragic,my heart go's out to them parents.

Apart from Ortiz being neary 70 years old and Chisora only being 60 they've both had 2 title challenges so could be said they are about even....but the level of opposition Chisora has faced is so much higher than Ortiz id say Chisora has to be the bigger named opponent.

Dicks theory was always that as long as the referee did his job the ball would be over the line before the keeper had a chance to move........im pretty sure there was only Matt Le Tissier who has a better penalty record i know Julians was 94%...Le Tissier scored i think its was 46 out of 47 !!!....unbelievable really. Saying that i remember being told another Hammer Mark Noble had the 2nd best penalties record in world football over the last 20 years.

For me Southgates time is up now he's had a good run with probaby the strongest squad we've had in 30 years and achieved nothing,despite decent stats his record against Fifa ranked teams is really poor i think it would be a tragedy if this current squad never win a major trophy.

What was all that about years ago folk taking up all that hong kong fuey shit thinking it would make them a bad ass in a straightener ? For kids yes i get it,nice gentle little introduction to sport.....but grown men,always a peculiar one i thought.
