  1. You do ...news to me,whats that from ? I have a habit of making bets and then forgetting, usually im only reminded if ive lost ...so fair play. Yes....despite the mammoth odds against it we,ll have a double or quits.....who gets the draw,as i fancy a nil nil myself.
  2. Alan Hutton looks a good player....but with every respect none of those are exactly what you would call household names are they.....for 2 clubs of such magnitude you would certainly expect them to produce some big name players.....not sure who the biggest name over the last 10 years would be
  3. Chelsea fans going to see Fulham thats a sin i cant believe that.....Sometimes when West Ham havent had a game ive been down to Dagenham and Redbridge just to see a game...but i certainly couldnt go to Millwall thats just against the law ! I guess a lot of folk up there who cant get in at Celtic end up in other grounds.....thats what keeps a lot of these smaller clubs going the fact they are peoples " second teams "..... Anyway, its been a good and eye opening little debate....cheers and best of luck
  4. You may well be right....if he wants to come down he,s most welcome...we,ll have to get the pie and mash/jellied eels in after as its an early kick off Craigyboy when your down this end of the table you start clinging onto omens.....realistically id be over the moon with a boring nil nil draw.
  5. I know theres a few on here, any of you Mancs coming down to the mighty Boleyn Saturday ? Dont forget the last time you was down here you got " Hammered " 4 nil.....yous have also only won 1 of your last 5 visits to London......the omens are good
  6. I,ll do the maths on that when you do the maths on the question you set which was name 1 club that could generate a 100,000 attendance.....Arsenal get 60,000 regular, have a 40,000 waiting list for season tickets, and games are sold out 3 weeks in advance meaning more tickets could obviously be sold per match......? I dont know the figures for Man Utd but id imagine they are similar if not higher.
  7. Theres a reason West Ham have just got the Olympic Stadium ...now while i accept we wont fill it each and every week we have an excellent fan base considering within 5 or 6 miles in each direction we have massive clubs like Arsenal,Chelsea and Spurs..... To be honest mate i think your getting a little bit hung up on this " big support " thing.....if i was a fan of a club with the " worlds greatest support " i would feel just a little tiny bit hard done by that my club couldnt produce a footballer worth a carrot and couldnt do anything in Europe against the other best supported teams in E
  8. Yes you make some fair points....personally i think if and when Celtic/Rangers come away from the Scottish league it will be the end of Scottish football full stop and thats the main reason it wont happen. I,ll always stand up if im wrong and i have to admit i probably did overlook the support the old firm sides particularly Celtic get so my apologies i simply didnt realise just how well supported they are.....still dont change the fact they wouldnt survive the premiership and im still dubious as to that reserve game.........but fair do,s they certainly raise some support
  9. I agree with virtually everything Chimp has said.....without meaning to sound heartless its hard to have sympathy for anyone in todays times who loses a pit bull type dog.....its not like its a new thing they have been on the banned breeds list for 20 years if an owner has one then they have to take the same precautions anyone else has to take when they are knowingly breaking the law. Theres no bigger admirer or defender of the apbt breed than me....but the fact is they are simply not for everyone and ive never understood why anyone would want a pet dog that is a cross of the worlds finest ca
  10. Are you one of these who thinks if a man dont come home from work with a bad back, smelling like a sewerage with dirt under his fingernails he hasnt done a days work......my hero The mans just explained how the lad doesnt need or have to work but does......if you never had to lift a finger and could have anything you wanted would you work ?....course you would hero.
  11. Personally i think thats part of the problem with the game as a whole up there.....your top 2 teams get 40/50,000 consistently......but you have other teams in the TOP HALF of your premier league getting 3 and 4000 !!.....what does a side like Kilmarnock average 5,000 ?....Hamilton Ac,s probably what 2000 ? Blue Square non league teams down here are getting that sort of turn out.....ok we know the difference in population etc etc.....but the fact is beyond Celtic/Rangers theres really not much of a football existence at all in Scotland is there, hence its not exactly competetive and its onl

Yes they are.....fluffy horrible little things not much bigger than a chihuahua....wouldnt imagine it would be too difficult to get one if you want to go through all the troubles of importing a dog i suppose
  13. Just thought id delve a little further This is the AVERAGE attendances for domestic games of European clubs....season 08/09 Celtic 9th....Rangers 15th. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Average_attendances_of_European_football_clubs
  14. Ok firstly,Londons population is probably a few mill higher than Scotland yes.....however,i wouldnt like to hazard a guess as to the % of that population of which are English/or at least hold an English tradition like football of any value.....for instance, both Chelsea and Arsenal,Londons 2 most succesful teams in todays times have only around 35 % of their week to week supporters who actually reside in London.....so when you take that into account, plus the fact you have clubs such as Spurs,Millwall,Charlton,Palace,QPR,WEST HAM etc etc all getting good attendances every week its easy to see th

  16. Thanks for all the suggestions,i now have the pros on the case...they was going to send me out some kind of kit involving different pastes your supposed to put on with one of those little hobby tool things that spin round dont know what there called....then use some fancy cloth to polish it after, the pastes have different grades of coarseness.....well i didnt fancy that so they put me in touch with a pro who having spoke to him told me i would more than likely of made it worse and how he has trained 20 years to get to the level he is now at Got him booked for this Friday, think he must hav
  17. Last time i was drunk was 1998 i had whoa about 4 whole pints !......i tend to just fall asleep....i enjoy the very occasional drop of wine but even then after a few i start nodding off....i like to think its cos i led a dedicated athletes life, but the truth is its probably just cos im a big fairy who cant handle his drink Nothing worse than a loudmouth drunk male or female.
  18. Absolutely....i totally agree with both your posts Mr.aft...... What do folk want him to do go get a job as a steel erector or plasterer.....if you dont like the monarchy thats fine but coming out with shit like " they wont need any luck " and bla bla bla...what a stupid thing to say ! As for all the money its going to cost the tax payer....give or take a penny i think it works out to around 47 pence per person......if your that hard up that you need to whinge about 47 pence theres a lot more for you to worry about than a royal wedding !
  19. Now its just getting silly .....what you are not taking into account,is in London alone there is around 10 big football clubs to choose from.....theres only 2 big clubs in the whole of Scotland !!..... Manchester is an area of what 20 square miles, theres 2 huge clubs.....we can all sit and reel off how many people go to football but theres a lot your not taking into account..... I,ll give you Arsenal as an example, seeing as im constantly bombarded with Arsenal stats ....Arsenal consistently get 60,000 attendances, week in week out regardless of the opposition,Arsenal is also THE highest ti
  20. Very interesting mate thanks for putting it up.....Just shows the damage that can be done.....i can just picture the meeting in the cow shed .....To be honest it amazes me the details and information us the fans get to know about such huge companies, what other walk of life could joe public be made aware of such details without having a foot in the door. Just hearing on the news Rangers have recieved a takeover bid....Lloyds bank have said they wont block the bid and its down to the club and shareholders
  21. While i value this tank and its inhabitants as being very nice, damn expensive, and beautiful in its own way.......it certainly dont hold as much value as my many Hammers scarves ....Send me down your Rangers or Celtic is it ? scarf, that way i can carry out your experiment with pleasure....i,ll certainly enjoy aiming my urine on it Well im game for almost anything at the moment so i,ll give it a go.....if it works theres certainly a round of drinks in it for you mate
  22. Maybe yous have a point,i spose its one of those situations that unless your in you dont understand.....my pals a keen Arsenal fan and is constantly moaning why his club wont spend money when they are in such a positive position financially.....i suppose its one extreme to the other......all i know is as a simple fan of an average football club im more worried what happens on the pitch than off.Far more educated and knowledgable folk than me will run the club......i/we can only support it.
  23. I see, thanks for the info......to be honest theres more than one scratch....a friend was coming in to feed the fish while i was on holiday recently and used one of these shitty glass cleaners a bit like a scouring pad you get in pet shops ....didnt realise at the time but its left quite a few tiny scratches......Ive been in touch with Schott Zweisel who make wine glasses/decanters etc im waiting for a call back....but im starting to think its something im going to have to put up with unfortunately
  24. Baw this is a mentality a lot of fans have that i really dont understand.....what do you care if your club has a " manageable debt " as opposed to a debt up to their neck ?.....as a fan of a football club all i want is success i couldnt give a monkeys how much debt my clubs in its not my money.....too many fans these days talk about football from a financial point when realistically we dont have a clue what go,s on within the finances of sport,as fans all we care about is winning on the pitch,if that means going into serious debt why do we care.... Of the top 4 in England its only Man Utd who
