  1. Absolutely, and whats the old saying.....never gamble more than you can afford to lose !......if your thinking of shares for anything more than a bit of fun,get someone who knows exactly what they are doing to advise you,or it can be a costly little exercise.
  2. Better in a one off match or better over a long season ? I think in a one off game yes they are technically superior.....over a long hard season no i dont think Barcelona or Real Madrid could win our premier league on the regular basis Man Utd/Chelsea do.....i think folk underestimate just what it takes to go away to Bolton/Stoke/Blackburn etc on a cold wet Tuesday evening....Arsenal have proved over the last few years they are not comfortable doing that and they are laced with these frilly technically great players, personally i think Barcelona would struggle in our league in exactly the same
  3. I think its more a case of the men in charge up there know that if Celtic/Rangers came down here it would put an end to Scottish football and it would virtually become a national sunday league. Personally id love them to come down, not to shut you jocks up once and for all,but simply because i accept they are 2 very big football clubs and if they could reach the premier league they could make it even more competetive.
  4. No thats fair comment i take your point....but i still think to write Beckham off the way you do is wrong, whether you think he,s the best or not theres no denying he,s one of the best. Personally id say the greatest English footballer ive ever seen is still Bobby Moore....not because he was West Ham and not because he lifted the World Cup,infact i only saw him play towards the end of his career, but from what older folk tell me who saw him play and from everything ive ever watched or listened to,i dont believe theres been better.....but thats just my opinion your right and thats the beauty of
  5. ....I cant be bothered mate......i say again.....you are making silly comparisons.... Its like saying if a pussy cat was bigger it could eat a lion !....a pussy cat is a pussy cat and a lion is a lion, lets leave it at that.
  6. How many full games did you see him play ? or did you just watch the odd highlights.....shit dont take it from me take it from your man Fergie.....said at his peak he was the greatest player of the generation he played. Gazza was a genius yes.....for a short time, does that make him a better player than a player at the top for a long time consistently playing to a high level....not in my book....infact id put Bryan Robson way above Gazza.
  7. ....so lets have it right, you think a man who although a genius, was a flash in the pan genius who never played at the highest level for very long.....is a superior player to a man who played at the highest level his entire career, gained far more England caps, played for the WORLDS top teams. Just a brand name and dead ball specialist ....yeah,cos he only became one of the highest paid athletes in the world and best known sporting figures of our generation by slipping into a spice girl and taking free kicks !!! Im not sure he,s the greatest English player ive ever seen......but he,s not
  8. It always cracks me up when you hear a mans bias and loyalty come into a debate ....loyalty to your club is to be admired but not when it clouds your judgement.....im as loyal to my club as the next man but it dont stop me being realistic and admitting who and what we are.We beat Man Utd 4 nil this season did it stop us going down ? no....does it mean we are as good a side as Man Utd ? no.....we can all use certain results and situations to make claims but on the bigger picture simple common sense dicates and if you think Celtic or Rangers can compete with Man Utd,Chelsea,Liverpool,Arsenal o
  9. Gnasher they WANT us too know all about there lives and HOW GREAT THEY ARE , i agree its pathetic but you cant have it both ways mate when it suits , PAUL SCHOLES goes about his life the right way NO PUBLICITY OR FREAK SHOW , at times i think how STUPID are these people , he is 1 off the most Famous sports man around , with all the ADULATION he gets AND ENCOURAGES did he think this wouldnt be headline news Good Or Bad these people will get the headlines and if they dont knpow that there livin in cloud cuckoo land One of the plus points in reaching the top of your profession is tha
  10. Very sad......sorry for your loss all who knew him.
  11. I dont buy that...if you notice the last one he kicks it at one angle and the ball comes down at a completely different angle.....plus the fact its on sand,in bare feet would make it a million to one to get one in let alone three
  12. Best of luck to you.....will be good to see a new side in the premier league....im not a fan of these play offs so coming third in the league it would be fair and proper if Swansea were the side to go up.
  13. Spot on ....only in a country as f****d up as this is their people who are more interested in the tiny weaknesses of a man than the massive strengths.....they gain fame and fortune through their skill and talent but then people want to forget about that and desperately try to uncover some pathetic little bit of scandal to drag them down with. Its a sorry sign of the times that we even know these boys wives names or how many kids they have or indeed anything whatsoever to do with their private lives.......its all reality tv nonsense giving sad little women something to moan about.
  14. I havent looked on this thread as Walter Smiths a manager i dont know too much about but having clicked on the last page i see yous are onto the old leagues bashing debate again Why on earth a Scot would have the cheek to knock the English premier league is beyond me .....i dont see any reason to think Walter Smith couldnt have done well down here, infact just as well as any of the other Scots who have been succesful.....but to think he would have automatically done great just because of his success up there is ridiculous......and that can be said about everything, theres no reason to think
  15. Id keep Parker and the young academy boys....and let the rest go,but realistically we,ve just got to cash in we cant expect Parker,Green,Cole,Bridge and a few others to stay......just as long as we keep the youngsters.
  16. As a West Ham fan... OUTS 1.Goalkeepers 2.Defenders 3.Midfielders 4.Strikers 5.Substitutes INS 1.Anyone 2.Anyone 3.Anyone 4.Anyone 5.Anyone
  17. Nice ...had a place just outside Costa Adeje in Tenerife a few years back but didnt use it enough to make it worth keeping....used to get all sorts of mad looking lizards round the place.
  18. Im not joking Wilf, the man looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights half the time....the part of the ground im in is about 20 yards above and to the left of the dugout....as you say this can be a pretty brutal place when things dont go well and he would just look petrified !.....he just wasnt the type of character for a club like this from day 1 and neither was Zola.....being nice fellas just dont cut it.
  19. If you remember the up and down years of the early 90,s he took us up in 90,down in 91 then back up in 92.....before one Mr Harry Redknapp got the job.....you reckon old Arry will come back
  20. Which island you on mate ?...nice pics by the way
  21. Twice in the same year, its almost worth the dissapointment of going down just to take up with Millwall again Funny you should say about Walter Smith he came into a discussion last night....its not like we can be fussy and we,re unlikely to get a more succesful manager....he wouldnt be my number 1 choice but with his record, maybe he should be !
  22. There you go Wilf....you,ve smashed the nail on the nut with this statement Id rather lose Parker,Green,Upson etc than lose the likes of Noble,Collison,Tomkins,Hines as they are the core of the clubs future.....little Mark Noble is hero worshipped at Upton Park yet he,s not a great player he,s just an honest talented local kid out of the flats living his dream which is playing for West Ham. Was discussing it all earlier another name came into the frame for manager....Martin Allen....passionate,commited,bit of experience, and a West Ham man.
  23. Just because you dont go to games and i do doesnt make you any less of a football than me mate ....Alan Devonshire is manager of a non league side down Richmond way,Scott Parker will definately move and i dont blame him he,s too good for this club at the moment we couldnt expect him to see out his career in the championship that wouldnt be fair.Your right we have had some real good players down here, names that most folk would probably have in the back of their mind without realising this is where they came from. In your position Lanesra id be pulling my hair out ....at West Ham we know we
  24. Theres only 5 grounds in all 4 divisions ive never been to and Doncaster is one of them so if nothing else it will be an experience....ive tried to latch onto bigger clubs when i was younger mate i just cant do it this clubs in my blood,so with that you have to take what comes with it....Evertons a ground i always enjoy visiting you scousers know your sport and your just as passionate as we are so i,ll miss those trips....hopefully it wont be too long
  25. Wilf i dont know anymore than the next man mate and you yourself know the club and know the area so your opinions as valued as anyones.....so in a nice over a cup of rosie kind of way i,ll just add...i didnt mean the whole entire squad or even team,i just meant how it used to be....of course you cant have a whole team of fresh faced youngsters you need the experienced players to help bring them through,as an example Trevor Brooking,Billy Bonds when Cottee,Dicks and their generation were coming through.....all i mean is this club was never about going out buying expensive footballers to buil
