Why would i shun lads ive known all my life ? who i grew up around ? whos arse i have saved on numerous occasions and vice versa ? Because i have an invention called the television and his face is on it every 5 minutes full of Black LIves Matter chat and i know what Black Lives Matter is all about. I think " acknowledge " is just the wrong term to use......if he is the best then he,s the best....you dont have to acknowledge a fact. Personally i couldnt give a bollock as the sport doesnt interest me but i accept Hamiltons the best driver if people who follow the sport say he is......acknowledge suggests respect and approval.....and the c**t gets neither from me.

What i meant mate was the whole safety in numbers football thing is so easy to fall into strong stances that you dont actually have.....that night at Lansdowne Rd being the perfect example i was genuinely there for a game of footie but then upon looking around and recognising faces from a very different area of life at that time your loyalties start to change and end up embroiled in shit you dont understand or even care about.... i was as guilty as anyone else but its something that happens a lot at the footie,hence to me footie banter is best kept at footie banter.

The tribal mentality Wilf talks about wouldnt allow 2 West Ham lads to stand in front of 50 Millwall lads singing songs about the old Dockers in this area from years gone by but they might get away with Bubbles....( well maybe not thinking about it ) ?.......point being footie is footie and religion/politics is something completely different i learned that on a winters night at Lansdowne Rd 25 odd years ago ? Never quite understood all that Jock mentality of religion and football it always puts me in mind of school assembly....all a bit too staged and disciplined once you get passed your clubs iconic song footy chants should be about fun and piss take.

If a player was off form we often used to get a song going to gee them up one i liked was when Bobby Zamora was going through a lean spell....to the tune of That's Amore we would sing " When your sat in row Z and the ball hits your head thats Zamora "......he would look up and give us a smile,seemed to perk him up a bit as well.

I liked Kos been a couple of times but in all honesty its not one of my favorites of the islands im just a f****r for letting food/drink entice me back to places.....ive been to Pefkos about 6 times now because of one favourite restaurant i really should try new places really.

I reckon it was probably one of these traditional big secret things like pie/mash and liquor round here.....id imagine all the villages put their own little tweaks on it as we had it in a few places but like i say nowhere near as good as Zia.
