  1. The Sickener WWW.WILDFOODUK.COM Poisonous but will only make you vomit. Common. The Russula family split from other mushrooms, evolutionarily, many years ago and have round cells... Tell you what threw me the stalks they seemed too thick
  2. Well done Arry I looked at the sickener and thought no it can’t be I just kept going back to the rustgill good guide though it does seem to have most types in there.
  3. I like this game I’m gonna stick my neck out and say Common Rustgill but I’m sure the Master of Mushrooms will confirm @Arry Great bug palace by the way it’s like bringing the outdoors indoors ? Common Rustgill WWW.WILDFOODUK.COM An easy to identify family of mushrooms, the Rustgills have rusty looking gills and this one is common and can grow in large numbers on conifer debris or woodchip.
  4. Lovely old pub that was right opposite Rathbone street market used to be a really nice Pie & Mash there, bit of mixed feelings to what it is now really, Wetherspoons would have been perfect as they go for the big buildings.
  5. Bloody hell I know Grenade street well my mate used to live just up the road from there in some very old flats there probably gone now, I lived in Sturry street Poplar for a while right opposite the baths & fire station if they still exist. There was a grammar school called George Greens I used to go to it until they turned it into a comprehensive it was a lovely building styled like a ship on the inside. And your right about the Asians they’ve got it nailed down there they used to stick to mainly to Aldgate East Watney market area back in the day but that’s another topic well co
  6. I lived there in the 70s/80s Limehouse nick with the Opporto pub right next door yep I’ve spent a few uncomfortable nights in there lol the nick not the pub ? I moved out when the LDDC started pouring money into it and it became yuppy heaven big phones posh flats own bits of river and all that. Stanleys were the weapon of choice even back then when I lived there, people did get striped left right and centre but as you know nowadays they skip that and just kill you ? I must say you’ve been about a bit.
  7. I remember the Watermans well amongst all the other great pubs,The Queens what it was known as back then as you entered the Island from the Blue Bridge end, my aunt em, fell out of the pub and died lol sad but funny everyday she used to drink Gold label and Guinness a real East End Character who used to live about 100yds from the pub, they changed the name to the Queen of the Island when they gentrified the place. I used to live right opposite the Glass Bridge in John McDonald house with my Nan & Grandad who was the Docker, which was right near the George Pub me grandad was a regular

  13. I haven’t I don’t visit London much at all these days my cousin helps run the Island History Trust which is a really good organisation which keeps all the past history alive they have a book for sale on their site called Bridgers Bompers & Boozers by Con Maloney it’s well worth a look, it’s a bit of a trip down memory Lane for me because all the old pubs the Blue bridge kings bridge etc are all mentioned in the book as you probably remember I was brought up on the Island. When the trust have their next open day I promised my cousin I’d come down for the day so I will definitely check
  14. My Grandad was a London docker East & West India docks and Canary Wharf which is a totally different place these days, It was an excellent job we never went without he used to tell me about the early days hundreds of men used to turn up and only a few were picked for a days work but obviously things got a lot better, I remember as kid being ushered into the docks for the dockers kids party’s we were treated really well all gone now sadly.

  18. Costa Rica’s a good place sunbathing bores the tits off me but Mrs Flattop loves it ?I’ve stayed in the Guanacaste region which is near the Nicaragua border it’s dryer than elsewhere in Costa Rica, there’s so much to see and do fishing rain forests boat trips in places where tourists don’t venture howler monkeys mountains volcanoes the lot it’s a real adventure place to visit, we normally have a day in where she sunbathes and I wander about and then I normally strike something up with a local and then we go and do things. I remember one trip it was like we were being kidnapped lol an old

  22. I’ve just looked above it’s a thing of ergonomic beauty, my lad uses Milwaukee drills and swears by them treat yourself as you say it’s been thought about and isn’t going to topple over which as you say is a sickener right at the crucial moment of measuring.
