  1. Dial Up is faster than Talk Talk here, it used to be good when I first started with them. They use sh!t routers, change the router to a decent one and it goes a lot faster. But, if they detect it's not one of their routers they will not do anything to help. Try asking them for a new router. TC This is how it went for me too, router died, got replacement about a month ago, and the haven't brought it up to speed, it lags like a skinny dog on a walk to the vets for it's jabbs. Open any home page and type 192.168.0.0 into the address bar press enter and that will take you
  2. Any shopping centre these day have a sky booth, if you want just broad band and phone you can get them for about £30 if not less a month. Deals for new customers. http://www.broadbandchoices.co.uk/offers/providers/sky-broadband?rmsrc=1&_$ja=tsid:38821|cid:157714578|agid:9801429858|tid:kwd-44160177795|crid:97563172458|nw:g|rnd:13089564970504093877|dvc:c|adp:1t2&gclid=CM-ovqedgssCFRYTGwodkNQNkg Edited to add: make a note of the date then ring up cancellations and ask them for a deal just before the 12 months is up. You will get a better deal. TC

  5. We went to sky, with a good package from a cold caller. Same line different router with Talk Talk we were getting 2.5 to 3 MBPS The maximum for our distance from the exchange was 6.5 using the Ookla speed test we were getting, dependant on the time of day, between 6 and 8 MBPS with sky, hell of a difference. Our contract was up with sky and the prices we had previously had escalated, so I phoned cancellations and picked the cheapest deal for our area off a comparison site and asked them to match it, just broadband and phone and they dropped our broadband from a tenner a month to £2.50 +
  6. We were with talk talk for around 5 years I was constantly on the phone to them. A few tips always ask to speak to a supervisor, all their script covers is things that you can do yourself. Once you have the supervisor on the line tell him you need the 2nd line help, he will tell you that he cannot do that, then you tell him it's either the 2nd line or cancellations. Once you get through to second line (in Britain) you will be given a phone number that is valid for 24 hrs. They will usually fix the problem in a couple of minutes, any recurrence of the problem and you have the direct line to the
  7. Well for sure you will have your chance. Good luck when you do! TC

  12. True, and no matter how stupid the claimants actions are they will always seek to blame some one else for their own lack of intelligence. As you can see I am no fan of the blame culture. If it looks hot then do not stick you hand on it and blame someone else. TC So if I'm sat in my car, totally still , not at fault, in the rich place etc etc etc , and some asshole who's not paying attention, or is texting on the phone as I commonly see, smashes into my car and injures me badly, meaning I can't go to work for days or weeks, and I lose pay ... You saying I shouldn't be able to claim off the

  14. Had a few again tonight, and got to thinking about the claim culture in this country and how it affects all of us. Do you think it has gone too far? Are people no longer responsible for their own actions? Should the rest of us suffer restrictions because of the habitual claimants? Have your say no matter which side your on. TC

    Hemp Nets

For hemp? Simple answer NO. Spun polyester is far better but when you have idiots selling purse nets @ £2.00 each then it does beg the question is it worth making your own? TC
  16. same with the scallop and quennie trawlers the French and Spanish rape the grounds round here and are in the 12 mile limit all the time Funnily enough, all the pair trawlers landing the spring migration in Milford Haven were Scottish. But I stress they were working within the rules, just exploiting a natural phenomenon. As all fishermen do. TC

  20. What a lot of anglers do not appreciate is that bass are a deep water fish that sometimes come in to shallow water. They have a very complex life style, from what I have read and observations, all bass are born male and as they grow they change sex, but not all will. March and early April (read big spring tides) will see an influx of 1kilo weight male fish at the mouths of estuaries and off shore sand banks anywhere where there is enough turbulence in the water to mix their milt with any female that is there spawning. The bigger tides are the best for them as it pushes the fertilised eggs furt
