I did not read the thread from the start, when I did see it quite a few posts had been made, including the ones from Tonya. As I read the post it just did not add up, but I left it at that, as he still had his sick money coming in so was not in real dire straights. I did not visit the thread for a while and when I did I had already had a pm saying something was wrong. When I looked back at the thread and just read Tonya's posts to me it was obvious that something was amiss. So for the reason that he still had money coming in, I donated a big fat 0. I would agree with that completely, if the reason for the initial decline of the hares could be assessed and addressed. Other wise they will only die out again. Edited to add: The decline of the Lapwing has been attributed to a decline of hares in the same areas, and also a rise in liver fluke in sheep. As hares are susceptible to liver fluke and lapwing feed on the fluke it does not take deal of working out that the ecology of our countryside is changing. The symbiosis that has for a long time kept a balance in our wild life is breaking down. TC

Every year this old chestnut about hare shoots come up. Funnily enough the numbers never seem to decline. You cannot shoot what's not there and to do it every year, says to me the system is working. Heavily keepered ground where the hares get protection as a bye product of the keepering for game birds. What would happen if they did not shoot them? Too many hares for the ground to support and the eventual onslaught of disease and decline. Just my opinion of course. TC

Please pardon my ignorance, what are the advantages of a prime lens over a telephoto? TC Prime lenses have better quality glass, tend to be a lot sharper, a lot faster focusing and of a lower F number allowing more light into camera enabling faster shutter speeds in lower light... Zoom lenses adjust the F number throughout the zoom, so you could be at f5.6 at 150mm and then step down to f6.3 at 300mm which means that you'll often have to change ISO/shutter speed... To be honest one foopar apart Hartley has an impeccable record so far for this six nations. Wait till Samson Lee whispers something in his ear in the scrum, then see him lose the plot. He is a volatile person, great player though, but does tend to bite a little too much. TC
