  1. We buy a lot of produce from non EU countries, most of it is even flown to Britain and is still affordable. So I do not see what the problem is. Israel, S Africa, Egypt, are just some of the countries we get our food from, but most of that food is what we would class as out of season for this country. TC
  2. It's because the public won't pay the price that a farmer needs to get for a lot of produce, look at the price of an organic chicken or good grass fed beef. It's not the public won't pay, most on minimum wage cannot afford to pay. Most of the imported veg etc is stuff grown out of season in some far climes, eg; runner beans from Africa all winter, kiwi fruit from NZ all year round. We eat seasonally, unless its frozen from the garden. Don't eat Winter veg throughout the summer Swede, Parsnips, leeks, savoy cabbage, sprouts etc, etc. By the same token frozen runner beans apart we don't eat

    Moon ?

We are programmed from the day we are born that everything has a beginning and end, every second, minute, hour, day, inch, metre and so on. We just cannot comprehend infinity, where there is no beginning or end. Even typing this now I am trying to visualise it and I can't, because I am always looking for a start point and an end point. TC
  4. I really look forward to your threads, they just go to prove what you can achieve, if you do not think that Manual labour is a Spanish dancer. All this "I cant be arsed nonsense" just shows the lazy barstewards up for what they are. Keep up the good work. TC
  5. Just shows what type of people they must be. Id say shes the sort that bangs other blokes behind his back she prob fooked off for a week with one while andy was laid up in bed I honestly don't think so. Have you seen her? I'm afraid its a . TC

  7. Man fell. Women lied and took cash. Both logged out of forum and rode off into the sunset. Scandal was exposed. The end...... Amen. TC
  8. The only issue I have with what you state Joe is Cameron did not come away with anything but proposals that will not be law. Truth be told he came away empty handed. TC
  9. The last few posts show what a complicated issue it actually is, There are truths, half truths and damn lies being bandied about. Each of them said with a straight face and a false conviction. I am going with my gut instinct and we should not be part of the United States of Europe, it will never work as unlike the States, each and every country has a history and a national identity, no matter how hard they try to mould us into one nation. TC
  10. Some northern kids can relate to this, whenever we used to ask our man what was for dinner (lunch) or tea (dinner) she always came back with the not very original answer "Shit with sugar on". The full answer is "Shit wi sugar on and jam 'round t' edges" Shit with sugar on and cockles and pop for desert, was my mothers reply. TC
  11. This referendum doesn't have anything to do with the ECHR. We'll still be signed up to it even after Brexit. It's entirely seperate to the EU. I will take your word for it, and stand corrected. TC

  14. If the UK vote to lave the EU and it is a big IF, I can see other disgruntled countries doing the same. When we joined it was for the common market, to be able to sell our goods abroad. Then came the food mountains with the EU paying farmers to over produce and stockpiling the over production. The next step was paying producers not to produce. It has been one farce after another, once they started the EU courts that's when they overstepped the mark. Once the court of human rights started overruling our laws it was time to leave. Just my opinion though. TC
  15. As a 'none of the above', I have not voted for, I cannot remember how many years, but it's a long time. As I feel that no party actually projects what I feel we need. I will however vote for leaving the EU in a referendum, as I feel my vote will count. TC
  16. Absolutely brilliant thread. All you need now is a sign for The Olde Wishing Well. Well done on all the hard work, makes you think though what it took to build it in the first place. TC
  17. Cold gravy sandwiches are one of my favourites, another is cold mashed potato, apple, banana, cold pie basically if you can get it between two pieces of bread I will eat it. Except anything with salad cream on. That is a big no no :bad: TC

    Hemp Nets

But your not playing golf with the nets. Years ago I done the same small nets for bolt holes, net to fit specific types of holes, etc etc: But in the end always grabbed the 4ft nets as they will fit any hole no matter how small, if set right. TC
  19. Have not read all the thread, so don't know if this has been posted yet? There are some lures here for a pound each. http://www.onepoundfishingtackle.co.uk/product-category/predator-fishing-tackle/ TC
  20. Bloody hell where do you want to start? Wales is full of them. From Will Penderyn who would drink a bottle of Tabasco sauce for a free pint, Tony Croaker who loved to dress up as a red Indian and parade around the village. Mostly though no harm in them, and nowadays they would have been given help when they were younger. TC
  21. they are based on the sun being in its predicted place, but if the earth has indeed shifted then the sun would be further north and we would get longer daylight hours than we did before. Well I left for work @ 7.30 this morning and while it was light the sun had not risen, by 5.45pm it was dark here, so if we are having longer days I am not seeing it in W Wales. Edited too add: this morning was clear skies and frost, this evening was cloudy and rain. TC

    Hemp Nets

Most people who have been in the game some time make their own nets, simply because they know what type of nets they need. (There is a little of the monetary aspect to it as well ) A chap ferreting tight Cornish hedges does not need the same type of net that a chap ferreting Norfolk sand warrens does. So each makes nets that suit the ground they work. Someone new to the game does not really know what they need, so goes by the consensus that what everyone else is buying is what he needs. The problem with that is, every one else does not have a clue what they need either. So no one gets wh
  23. You still have lost 2hrs out of your day, even where you live. https://www.google.co.uk/#q=sunrise+and+sunset+times+lincolnshire. I agree the shift in the earth's axis is far more likely to cause the weather patterns we are seeing now the the fabled global warming. TC

    Hemp Nets

There is only one way and that is cutting corners. You can make tidy 4ft purse nets for around £1.50 each those are 4ft nets with a big belly to the net. The nets that you get for £2.00 each you can barely get a rabbit in them they have cut them down so much, just to make a few pence more, so they can undercut the next bloke. A good quality 4ft purse net is worth every penny of £3.50. But as buyers are always looking for the bargain, they are willing to accept an inferior product at a cheaper price. You should get ten to a dozen 4ft nets out of a 500g ball of spun poly. I make shaped
  25. i believe its more to do with heat and the length of time that heat lasts. we are already at the slit point of 12 hours plus of daylight. Where are you getting 12 hours of daylight from? We are another month away from the equinox. Sunrise 7.22am sunset 5.27pm today. TC
