  8. I think I aught to make up a petition calling for the reinstatement of all imperial measurements. I still have to convert to feet and inches to think what size something is. Some are easy to remember like 400mm or 40cm or 4 dm is 10 times the size of my dick, that is easy to remember, after that it gets confusing. TC
  9. We can have our proper money and weights back? Back to £ S D and everything weighed in LBs and OZs? Oh and feet and inches Just wondering like. TC

  12. Surprised you'd want someone who has said there's no guarantee immigration will go down after Brexit leading the negotiations. FFS BGD you really are getting tiresome now. I like you, your articulate and have common sense, but you have been trolling every thread since Friday morning with negatives, give it a rest please cos your acting as if you are a child who has had their sweet ration stopped. TC I just think folk should know what we've voted for Fair comment, but why focus on the negatives? Because there are positives, why not try and concentrate on those? TC

  15. I used to think it was America the EU were trying to emulate, I am not so sure now. It does seem to me as if they were trying to emulate the good old USSR, in that Russia was never really a communist country, more of a state capitalist, where the proletariat had to do what they were told for a bare minimum, yet the politicians lived the high life. Ring any bells? TC

  17. It's funny how one of the biggest oximorons has not posted on this thread? He has perhaps one of the biggest portfolios of all the members of THL yet still proports to support socialist principles. Odd really? TC
  18. I was brought up in the Welsh valleys, where you could put a donkey in for labour ( and they frequently did ) and it would win. As I grew older I could see that socialism was not really working. As stated by nicepix earlier the problem with socialism is people and their greed, the ideal is brilliant, but the reality is something completely different. Capitalism is the only system that really works for this country and most of the world if the truth be told. But I cannot forget the principles of socialism where the weak, old and needy are cared for. When I see ex soldiers with problems liv

  20. I disagree, the working immigrants in the UK are contributing to our nation. Why the fcuk should they be punished?? Obviously our own people should be given first dibs on jobs but we all know how lazy a lot of Brits are when it comes to work. Where exactly did I say that they were not contributing? I also agree with an amnesty for illegals, because at the moment they are not contributing, but are still here. So might as well get them contributing. TC They pay their taxes just like everybody else, why should they be punished?? I agree proposals could be made for future immigrants,

  22. I voted out not for the immigration but because I wanted OUR country back. I heard on the news this morning some expats moaning that they cannot now have their cake and eat it. They are moaning that they will have to pay medical insurance, as the free health care will stop, the cost of sending their kids to university is going to cost them more. Fecking tough I say, you chose to live abroad now live with the decision. The people of this country have spoken and will be more vocal in the future. Lets hope the political parties take note as we are fed up of being dictated too by people who fe
  23. I made a post on here, a while ago stating that we would not leave the EU as the 'powers that be' had too much to lose. I honestly thought we would lose the vote by the narrowest of margins, the elation I felt this morning when I seen the result was truly euphoric. However, that was short lived when I read that unless one side actually won by gaining 60% of the vote the losing side can call for the result to be null and void and another vote to be taken. Whether this option will be invoked remains to be seen, but there is an on line petition gaining momentum at the moment where the remain
