    Parking

What ever the hobby bobbies are called these days, they have no more power than you or I. They can advise and that is about it. They cannot issue a ticket even for parking. TC
  2. They look like they have come off an old canvas bag, something like a water bottle carrier? I have seen bags with hooks on the carry strap before. TC
  3. Do you have a photo please or a name of the bag I can then borrow one off the net. Many thanks, as you say every items helps. TC
  4. A few paragraphs may help the reader, I tried reading it but gave up. TC

    Rspca

Think about it. 120m a year, the tax that is paid on it. Would you kill a goose that is laying golden eggs for you? The government will not do a thing, they may make appropriate noises and filibuster a bit, but that is all they will do. Unless public opinion changes and the donations = revenue for the government, drops. TC

    Food.

I pulled some pork last weekend, cooked it in the slow cooker with orange and lime juice 6 cloves of garlic 3 sliced onions, a little chilli and some chicken stock. It was great in some Hovis baps but not as nice in wraps. It was all right but will be a while before I make it again. TC

    Rspca

Read this. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/how-the-rspca-bites-the-hand-that-feeds-it-1898150.html All charities pay tax, the RSPCA receive approx 120m pounds a year in donations. Yet they seek not to pay any taxes on those donations. Even taking people to court to try and make them pay the taxes for them. TC
  8. The short answer is no, all land is owned by someone. It then depends on that person or organisation as to if they allow hunting on that land. TC
  9. An interesting thread, it seems every theory has it's supporters. I suppose holes could be picked in every theory of the origin of the domesticated canine, that's what makes it really interesting. The last link that was put up contained a lot of if's and possibilities but no actual proof. The idea that dogs are descended from wolves is a widely held theory, and really there is at the moment no evidence to prove otherwise. But what if the dogs ancestors was actually not the wolf, but a separate species akin to the wolf? The reason I asked the question is that evolution is still occurring to

    Food.

There are so many I like, I like simple food cooked well, Pigeon breasts stuffed with Garlic served with a cheesy leek bake, cawl peas made with Gammon hocks, ordinary cawl which has to be made with lamb. But I suppose my favourite of all has to be a simple Sunday dinner it does not matter what the meat is, but roasted shoulder of lamb makes the best gravy. TC
  14. I will add them to the lots in the morning. Many thanks TC
  15. I make them. They are a copy of the Norwegian or Loomis style of needle. been using that style of needle for about 30 years. You can get the loomis needle off of Nigel at Agouti nets. http://agouti-nets.co.uk/product/54-7x3-4-loomis-net-needle TC
  16. My biggest regret with dogs is that I did not find out about the GWP or to give it it's proper name Deutsch Drahthaar earlier in life. What a wonderful breed of dog. It was a culture shock when I started to train my first one, previously I had trained Spaniels, labs, lurchers and terriers. all those were a dawdle compared to the GWP. When the penny at last dropped with me and I started listening to the dog, oh what a pleasure, I have never known a more versatile breed of dog that can do so many different disciplines, but not only do them, but does them well. One thing I did find thoug
  17. What people do not realise is that every bird in this country is protected by law. The general licence allows for the shooting of certain species of birds as long as certain criteria is met. If that criteria is not met then shooting birds is illegal, even the species that come under the general licence. Be that with a shotgun or catapult. TC

There is a man, no one knows his name, he lives in a cyber nowhere land and he can only be contacted by pm. Call for Flipper-AL if anyone can sort it he can. TC

  20. Just had a google for sandpipers nest and it looks like your mate was right. TC
  21. i know what your saying allan but the eggs are throwing me as i cant judge the size and they just look like them could well be wrong I was going on the shape of the eggs typical ground nesting bird shape, conical so that they sit tidy in the nest. what threw me was that there looked a concerted effort to build a nest which most birds who lay that shape eggs do not do, it is usually just a scrape in the ground. I went for the plover as they do like to nest in heather and along with some bracken and dry grasses in the nest make up, it does look like a bird that nests on moorland. I will
  22. Mistle thrush on the ground? Do they nest on the ground? I have never ever seen a Mistle Thrush nest or eggs. So am willing to be taught. TC
  23. I was told once by a person that he had picked field mushrooms in May, and to be honest I did not believe him. But it's hard not to believe evidence like that. TC
