  1. Thanks for letting me know . TC
  2. The auction listing will stop @ midday on the 8th of June and the auctions will start on the 8th of June @9pm and finish on the 15th of June @ 9pm. TC
  3. https://www.gov.uk/government/policies/helping-people-to-buy-a-home/supporting-pages/help-for-first-time-buyers Apparently you can pay it back at any time? TC
  4. i would have a morgae and a loan to pay for deposit at the same time then. unless the goverment let you pay in 15 years once the house is paid im happy to save the houses arent going any were.. price might move though I think it is deferred for 5 years then low interest rates when you start paying it back. TC
  5. There is a goverment scheme that lends money for deposits. TC
  6. Get the photobucket app it;s free it will even automatically upload pictures for you as you take them if you want it to. easy as pie. TC
  7. Smithie, First off, It's not for night time long netting, a simple net rigged by halves is more than enough for that job. The net is for daytime netting when ferreting. If you have enough slack in a net between tie off points you do not need to have the slack running along the lines. I'll try and give you an example. Lets say a rabbit hits a normal net and pulls a lot of slack while balling it's self up, does that stop the next rabbit to hit between those poles to bounce off the net because the first rabbit has taken all the slack out of the net? That might be a problem but usually it
  8. Out of likes so have this but don't apologise every item is more than welcome and they all count. TC
  9. I tried another pattern but the outcome was not much different to the one above. I have another pattern in mind I will see how that works out and see which one I will go with. A trammel works on the principle that each square is like a small purse net, this net works on the same principle but instead of having separate outer walls the walls are knitted into the mesh of the net. TC i have been chewing this over and by stiching the outer walls to the net i think your limiting the net a we bit asall the bag can not be pulled from between the pegs. is you happen to place this on a
  10. To any mod could you please post this in the mod section please. If a Lot is uploaded and paulus is not around to move it to the sub section could you please lock the thread to save anyone posting in it before he has a chance to move it. TC
  11. When the auction starts you will be able bid on an item you want, everyone will be able to see your bid and you everyone else's. TC . When i click on them T nothing happens lol On the list i mean Thats because the auction is not starting till Sunday the 8th of June @ 9pm. Every item donated has been made into a separate thread and saved in a subsection by paulus and will be rolled out on the 8th. so each item will have it's own thread for people to bid on. TC

  13. There's a full description on how to make a square meshed net in the pinned section at the top of the page. Its the first topic on the list. For a trammel net you use a 12" mesh board for 12" square. TC
  14. People, as Darcy has stated there is a chance here to be pro-active rather than re-active, so no matter how small the item you donate is, it will all go towards a worthy cause. It does not have to be worth mega bucks every £1 counts. Fishing books, anything that is loosely related to field sports will all be welcome. Offers of days out while doing your job, be it a mole trapper, farmer, fisherman what ever all will be greatly received. A big thank you to all that have donated so far. TC
  15. If they were all in one thread they would have to be sorted out again for them to be bid on. As I am uploading them paulus is adding them to the pinned topics and locking them till the auction starts. TC

A trammel works on the principle that each square is like a small purse net, this net works on the same principle but instead of having separate outer walls the walls are knitted into the mesh of the net. TC Will you field test all three nets to see which one works best ... I would be interested to see how these turn out as a lot of my ferreting jobs are on my own and a net such as these would be a very handy tool in

  18. People, As the donations are being posted on this thread, I am making them into their own thread which is then pinned by Paulus. If you could please do not answer the lot number threads before they are pinned for the start of the auction on the 8th of June. Many thanks. TC
  19. As most of you will know Dymented is collecting donations to prosecute the RSPCA for cruelty and neglect. We are running an auction to aid the fund. Any person who wishes to donate please add your item in this thread with a description, who is responsible for postage if applicable, a photo if possible it will then be added to the auction lists. There will be a two week period for donations and the auction will run for one week after that. If you wish to make more than one donation please make a separate post for each item. The donation period will run from today till Midday Sunda

No reply to the idea of the auction. Is there any reason why I could not put up the stuff in a post and just ask them to pay Dy's fund through paypal? TC
  22. You bought it off a stall that sells items for stick making, a buffalo horn thumb stick top would be about that price in a fair perhaps a bit cheaper on the bay. TC
  23. Looks like buffalo horn to me. Granted I have only a photo to go on and I may be wrong. But it looks like any BH I have used for sticks to me, heat treated, pressed then cut out and shaped. One thing is for sure it will last a long time. Bit of T-cut and it will shine like a new shilling. TC
