  1. That 'ridge' you see running down the centre of your dogs skull is a line of bone that the Jaw muscles attach to. So depending on the amount of muscle on the dogs head determines how much of the skull you can see. All dogs have that ridge, it's just more prominant in some breeds. Bull breeds have been breed for (amoung other things) bite power, therefore the muscles across the top of the head are overly large so hide the ridge in the skull and in some cases actually bulge past the ridge, giving as you said a heart shape to the back of the head. Hope this helps a bit.
  2. Used to use a Red filter for spotting quarry then flip it up to run the dog but I lost it whilst out. I've noticed a big differance in the quarry. Their very lamp shy to white light, sweep too much of the field with the light then they all bugger off for home at once.
  3. Cracking photos there guys, looks like a good day out. Thanks for sharing them. My little white Russell is the same Codie, she looks like she's been butchered after a few hours mooching in the bushes! lol aye my missus goes daft when mines has been at summit, but when shes cleaned up and a bit vaseline on it im like what the fucks the problem I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets it in the neck when I get home with her in that state then! I also get it when I come home... "That's it, no more! look at the state of them this time!" I've started wiping the d
  4. I use Lansky knife sharpeners but I use the professional Clamp and Stones version.
  5. I think they only treat dogs that have joint problems/sent by the vets. They don't seem to run programs for conditioning?
  6. Frontline's pretty good but advocate is better (also treats fungal and bacterial skin conditions) You need a prescription for it though.
  7. Looks good but don't you think it's a little old now for bottle feeding?
  8. Welcome to the Dark side Harry! you won't regret it! I'd also recommend buying a specific recipe book for your Slow cooker, their well worth it. You'll be amazed at what you can cook in it! if not, give it a month or two and you'll be fed up of stews and it'll be put in the cupboard out of the way (it's what we did till we found the cook book.) I'm so impressed with ours, I've bought a second, smaller slow cooker. It's the perfect size for doing soups etc. Just throw all your veg and stock in the cooker beofre leaving for work, then when you come home, just beat the veg with a fork for a
  9. Been for two trips to the Forest of Dean with mates and haven't even seen a anything whilst there! obviously in the wrong part, maybe one day! Beautiful countryside though. I'm sure some locals will recognise the view... Would I need to go East or South East from there to photogragh some wildlife!!!

  12. Cracking stuff mate and some class photos! looks like their doing well at them.
  13. This is the Lurcher, Running dogs and Hound section, Their just under half Grey. As their only about 1/8 Terrier, I don't see how moving it there would help? Since the Bull breed section closed, this is where we have to post. If your refering to the fact they won't be much cop on the Fens then your correct but she'll do me fine for the type of work she'll get.
  14. With insurance always put your dog down as a Mongrol or crossbreed. their cheaper to insure (their working on the theory of Hybrid vigor) and never say it's a working dog. A lot won't insure working dogs so if it breaks it's leg or get's ripped on barb wire you were just out for a late night stroll!
  15. I've lost my camera but managed to grab a photo using the phone. Tess at 16 weeks, she's 17"tts and about 15kg (33lb)
  16. Mum, Dad and daughter, Even though they've all got perfectly good beds each, they always bed down together crammed into Roo's crate.
  17. It's part of the running dog section, always has been.
  18. or just keep up with their worming tablets, they should be wormed quite often as pups so it shouldn't really affect them
  19. Is this too young LOL or did you not mean for their dinner?
  20. Well that was easy! cheers Top, that's another beer I'll owe you now! Looks like I'll be fully converted to BARF by the weekend! and it's only 40 miles away so I'll just buy a cheap old chest freezer and buy in bulk. Thank you for your help everyone. This thread turned out very useful!
