  1. I've 2 hobs here that are ready for work. They are this years young (early bred) the rest of the litter are working well. There not massive and are nice to handle. 1 x polecat and 1 x silver Looking for a fiver each I'm in south yorkshire
  2. At work unable to see it .... have to watch it when I get home. For the record, I have no problem with elephant hunting. Like any game animal they need some kind of management, elephant hunting has pretty much saved the species as it's given them economic value that doesn't involve poaching, and not an ounce of it is wasted . Don't see the controversy. I consider myself a sportsman and i give things a sporting chance. IMO whats the sport in walking up to an elephant and shooting it. It's an ego thing with you yanks. I saw a documentry a few months ago where some fat idol yanks were
  3. PMSL, i'd have been rolling around on the floor killing myself with laughter too mate. As long as the ferrets ok thats all that matters mate..
  4. Totally agree, only the best die young giving 100%. It's never easy losing a young dog though and my thoughts are with you..
  5. Good day, I like the look of that Blue whippet mate ATB Mally
  6. No, you could see the prob on the xrays. Cheers mally, sure she will be fine, she hates the crate tho', you ought to see how fast she can go on 3 legs when let out for a pee. LOL I know they hate the crate mate, but the longer she's rested the better she'll recover. Swimming will aid her recovery after the 6 week period. Try and find out if there's a hydro therepy pool near you mate. It's not cheap but we'd recommend it. Good idea, if I can't find one I'll eat some beans, get in the bath and she can hop in with me PMSL it may not be a bad idea though, if your baths dee
  7. Well i've seen it all now, folk just havn't got a clue. Let pups be pups for fecks sake. There tendons etc are still developing.... If there's one thing i say to people who get there first running dog and it's this, i've never seen a dog ruined when its owners have started it late, but i've seen dozens ruined when they've started them too young. My dogs don't run anything in anger until i know there ready. I just can't think what you were thinking, poor dogs thats all i say

  9. My mother in law's westie had the same operation at 5 months old. And over 3 years on runs around like the best of them. The bitch shown no ill effects after the initial 6 weeks cage rest and is in no pain what so ever now. Goodluck with your bitch mate.
  10. Thats the main problem with the current Kc registration process, the pedigrees etc are only as honest as the person filling them in if you know what i mean. I'm sure that some working whippet lines have other blood in them, you can see it it some of the pups. Yet they are still kc registered with papers. Vixen has been DNA tested and as will the pup/s i keep from her future litter, This will hopefully assure people that what i put on the paper work is true and if they have the facities to be able to check there pups DNA to prove the said sire and dam really are there pups parents. Whippe
  11. Well thats why some working whippets lines are all shapes and sizes with apple heads and stickup ears, because people don't take a good long look at the dogs, they only breed from workers to workers and end up with all shapes and sizes IMO. I put my old working bitch to a show bred dog to produce the whippet i'm running at the minute(VIXEN) and she is the best working whippet i've actually seen out in the field and her father has probably never chased a rabbit in his life. I chose the stud dog for his confirmation and as an outcross, as Vixens dam was VERY closely line bred a recipe for di
  12. YOUR PM BOX IS FULL MATE... WILL TRY AGAIN LATER. sorted now mate
  13. Are they singing finch mate?? have they been kept near any cock canaries??? I'm looking for a couple of dimorphic hens if you know anyone... happy to do a deal with a goldy cock or two
  14. I'm running LDR at the end of the month.
  15. I totally agree with you in principal mate, i have fed barf to my dogs (proper barf, bones, vedge etc etc) and i my dogs did very well on it. However due to circumstances i chose to go back to a complete diet and raw lamb and i found it to suit my dogs. However i did try a couple of other makes of complete before i found one that suited the dogs and one that kept them in condition even when there worked hard. I've just got in from an hours lamping, only had 6 runs but she caught all 6. it's the whippets 4th night out in a week and we are out all day tomorrow ferreting. I know she wouldn't ke
  16. I don't agree with all commercial food being shite. You do actually get what you pay for. I was speaking to the vet when i took my bitch for a booster and they see alot of dogs that are fed on Barf that are suffering different ailments due to the owners not feeding barf properly. Some just feed raw meat and bones without the vedge etc. It's a topic that will run and run, as i said i've fed both and i now feed a commercial food with raw lamb (fed at seperate times) and it suits my dogs who work well on that diet.. sorry mate but the vet is the last person you wanna ask about feeding yo

  18. Come on lads i put this up to try and get some decent photo's of folks dogs just in case they get stolen and they can then be used to identify and help get them back. Thats the problem with thl at the moment, folk just don't know when to take a topic seriously.... I know the importance of good photographs when your dog gets lifted, i had a blue whippet lifted and i had good photo's for posters etc. Unfortunately it wasn't a happy ending for my dog... If anyone is interested please pm me. I'm based in south yorkshire, but there are a couple of other photographers in other areas willing
  19. Having experienced dog theft myself, i wouldn't wish it on my worst enermy. It makes my blood boil everytime i see a post involving dogs being stolen. Sometimes the owners of the stolen dogs don't have photographs of them prior to being stolen so therefore can only describe them, the old saying a picture says a thousand words springs to mind... Well i'm prepared to give up my time and take photo's of any members dogs free of charge. (for identification purposes only). I will take photo's of all your dogs including distinguising marks etc. I'll then put the photo's onto 2 CD's You get o
  20. that is a stunning beddy x. Thank's it's a friends dog, he was just 9 months old when the photo was taken. He's now 11 months old and he's just started taking him out on the lamp.
  21. They came around here a month or so ago begging at the door for £3.00 a month and at 9 o clock on a sunday morning!!!!!. I was really pissed off to say the least when i realised they were working for the RSPCA, they were just a couple of what looked like students so i decided to give them some shite. I asked them there views on hunting etc and they tried to answer in the best way they could but you could tell they knew absolutely F**K A*L, they were just employed to collect money for them. I told them that i never give to the RSPCA as i don't agree with the way they go about things, and
  22. Myself and Charpolski judged the black dog at staveleys show last october at Pleasley and we gave it reserve best in show, it's a cracking dog. A real credit to it's owner
  23. COULD YOU RECOMMEND A GOOD GREYHOUND COMPLETE FOOD .THANKS FOR YOUR HELP. I use Chudleys greyhound racer, it's a little more expensive than others but i find it the only feed that will keep weight on my whippets when i work them hard. Even when i feed it without meat. Plus i found i don't need to feed as much, so in the long run it works out about the same price.
  24. I use my whippet for rats.. Here you go an outing we had earlier this year http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...c=87297&hl=
