  1. Tripe on it's own is no good to man or beast, there's not enough in it on it's own to sustain a pup. A good greyhound complete food with Raw meat (fed seperatly) i feed pups at 8 weeks 4 meals a day. 2 meals of soaked complete greyhound racer and 2 meals of raw meat (usually lamb or chicken) i don't feed tripe.
  2. Bedy x whippet X bedy x Greyhound
  3. My Lab bitch had the same a couple of months ago, i thought the same ' a urinary tract infection' i was right. Took her to the vets and a Jab of antibiotics soon had it sorted. It cost me £20 mate
  4. I don't think we'd have seen anymore rabbits on anyone elses land it was just one of those nights, dew, no wind and a full moon. There are obviously rabbits on the ground we walked as it's got a railway line running straight through the middle. If i was invited for a run of this land in better conditions i'd jump at the chance. Like most i try and pick the nights i go lamping and as a whole i get quite respectable bags even with my whippet. Don't worry mate i'll be there bright and early on saturday. In fact give me a ring on Thursday and we'll get out for an hour on the lamp

  6. Why didn't you enter the comp then???? You have enough to say about those who had the balls to enter the comp. From what i see is this leeview your always on here critisising folk who actually get out in the field and do it. If i didn't have this swine flu i would have been out ferreting today instead of replying to someone who's critising a competition he's not even in... enough said i think...
  7. mally where did I accuse you of being a liar? I said you did nt mention a fact that was later brought up How many members on here 35,000 plus and 22 decide to enter a lamping comp doesnt give them immunity from criticism or does it? Im not a politician but like anyone else I have an opinion and will express it through freedom of speech. I'll leave it there for now mally before I say too much Y.I.S Leeview You can say all you like leeview, most of your posts are critising other members on here anyway. There's not many posts showing you actually out in the field. Do you have a dog y
  8. First things first, i'm not into multiple quoting so here goe's Leeview..... You are obviously accusing me as being a liar like you do on a regular basis with other members on here. I wrote the report on friday evening just before going out lamping. I'd already trudged 8 miles the night before, didn't get in til 4 am then get accused of lying. Get a grip man. Yes there was a transit van and other lampers around the area. We made the best of a bad night. I would have cancelled the heat after an hour and gone and run it on my land had it been possible but it wasn't possible. The farmer would

  10. I can't agree more mate. Vixens dam was bred by Mike Brown and put mother to son to produce her. Far too close IMHO. Thats why i decided an outcross. I don't like the way the popular whippet lines are going, there getting very big and it's not good for the breed as a whole IMO. I like a whippet to be around 20" and around 30lbs and bred to the standard. My real hate is the stuck up ears and apple headed whippets which are appearing more often in the working lines. If people thought before they put there bitches to the nearest available dog and bred for the benefit of the breed instead of prof
  11. I was asked to judge this heat which was held near me. Chartpolski brought his brother with him and they have stayed with me for a couple of days prior to the heat. We arrived at bolts to be greeted with pizza etc, we should have stayed there and had a few beers as it wasn't a very good night for lamping to say the least. But due to circumstances we had to run the heat on a full moon, we were hoping for a bit of wind and cloud cover but it just didn't happen. As soon as i saw the dew on the first field we walked in i knew it would be a long night. It actually took over an hour for both dogs t
  12. I have about 6 of these nets and they are worth there wieght in gold. As leeview i make my own and i always put 21/2yds of netting to one yd of net in these nets. so a 12 yard net has 30 yds of netting. I've had six rabbits in a net at the same time, plus if the net gets snagged on the hedge there is always enough bagging to kill a rabbit... I don't bother with a salvage line though i just use the sheet netting with the double knitted top and bottom line in 6z 54mm mesh.. Just out of interest Leeview do you use these nets as quick set or traditional?? i use them as traditional as i find it muc
  13. I always thought professional photographers used polariod camera's lol Serious now, I've just had a look at the exif data on the images and the photographer used a Nikon D90 to take the shots using shutter priorty at an iso of 400 at F14 hope that helps cracking pics BTW
  14. I know that Lee i spoke to you on the phone a few weeks after if you remember. It just leaves a bad taste when you travel over 600 miles for nothing not even a shot on the geese. I may have a look up on the roe does if you have a few about around the end of november and a duck flight?? its a shame you couldnt tell all your fellow countryman not to bother coming up to scotland, where did you go that you didnt get a shot? I will mate, like you would do the same if you experienced the same... After all the expenses of travel, B & B etc. We were shooting near Saline. We also

  16. Funny you should say that mate, i had him out for the first time last tuesday when i'd put a couple of extrs holes in the ferret collar lol. He worked his little heart out and he's a pleasure to handle
  17. Thanks, she needs to be as we have our heat with LDR and bruce at the end of the month. Just hope she holds her own as we've not been out as often as i'd have liked as the grounds like concrete around here. We've just been out for a few runs on the fields that have been ploughed and reseeded and the small grass paddocks and a couple of days a week ferreting. I'm pleased with her to say she's only 5 weeks out of season... Sorry to read about your bull x thinking of you atb paulx
  18. The Blue bitch on my website is 181/2" and 26lbs she's not here anymore i gave her to a good friend. Vixen is 20" and 30lbs, she's bred out of a line bred sooty sam bitch (21" 36lb) and a showbred dog(191/2" and 32lb fullerton and nevedith lines) I like a strong type of whippet thats not too tall IMO 20" for a bitch is about spot on.... Thanks for the kind comments
  19. I've been asked to take some photo's of working whippets for a magazine so we were out yesterday for a few hours. Here are a few photo's that didn't quite make the cut....
  20. Nice one Ryno, they have started to flight over me now away from your permission and onto mine . All this crap about going up tpo scotland for the geese!!!, the last time i went up we didn't even shoot a cartridge, you could see where all the other clients had been the day before!! we didn't see feck all. And the guide even had the cheek to try and charge us :wankerzo4: It's not all it's cracked up to be you must know the guide and don't take owt for granted as some just see you as a tool to fill your wallet. It will be along time before i pay to go to scotland again.
  21. It does depend if it's a proper wild flight or just driven tame ducks, Personally i prefer wild duck flights you don't get as many birds but the ones that do come in are good birds not on the end of the barrel. The last time i paid for an evening flight (wild) it was £45.00 and that was up your way near Stirling.
