    As we sat in the truck getting our kit sorted out the wind was howling round us, once sorted off we went, it was bitter cold too, it wasn’t long before the rabbits were on the move, some just carried on over the heather and away but 2 dropped to ground, nell confirmed what I saw with a mark, all 100 yards of long net was soon out and round, 2 bolted quickly then all went quite, apart from the constant wind, out with the box and a couple of digs later saw a few more added to the tally, I was missing one of my albino Jill’s, I stared at were I put her in and ended up at the other end of the Warr

    Jill’s come into season later than hobs, it’s all to do with the days lengthening, it won’t be long before the hobs will be caged on there own

    Looks a cracking day trev, ? we have some low land too but we hit that at the beginning of the season then it’s up, up and up some more, in amongst the limestone and heather

    It’s constantly windy up on those moors, in 3 seasons I think we have only been there a handful of times when it isn’t blowing

    With the vast amount of ground we have it’s littered with holes so a marking dog is a must, personally I wouldn’t bother if I had no dog

    After the thumbs up from the keeper we made our way out this morning, as normal we got there just before day break, sorting the kit out and heading off into the windswept fellside, on my approach I could see plenty of rabbits heading for the rock so I took a detour and climbed out above them hopping to put a few to ground, as I went up the rabbits went up, I went higher, the rabbits went higher, I couldn’t win once on the tops they just disappeared into the vast expanse of heather, after about of a walk Nell worked her way down the fell side onto a large Warren, where she was marking at a few

    A bit harsh???? If my lurchrer marks a Warren I’m not leaving there until I get a bolt, as for 7 proven ferrets, how proven are we talking?out every week in week out or just out once in a blue moon?????

    Cracking trev, looks good land for bolting to the dog. We were out yesterday up the side of a gyll, a lot of walking for 17 rabbits

    That’s all they are rossett hunters, or money spinners, micros, angoras, etc if it’s not white it’s not right!!!!
