Good catch that,I tried countless times to hook up with a tuna in the med during their migration, took the boat right offshore and was surrounded by tuna showing on the surface, tried trolling, dead baiting under a floated balloon, nothing worked even though there were thousands of fish.

India is exactly the same, always used to see people recycling, even the thali plates made from pressed coconut leaves were eaten by the cows that wander the street, alang in gujarat is the ship-breaking capita of the world, your right no HSE for miles around, remember the book of eli, theres a conversation in the movie the end line of which was something like "We had a surfeit of everything, and threw things away that people would kill each other for now" Resources can only last for so long with emerging economies and people clamouring for consumer goods.

The philippines has started importing shipping containers of rubbish from canada to recycle, there used to be a huge rubbish mountain called Tondo near north harbour in manila, notorious sort of place (i walked past once and saw a team of guys snatch someones hand-bag and dissapear into the maze of tin shacks that formed the village)known because it always smoked like a volcano due to decomposition, and entire families worked the dump for recyclable rubbish,plastic,paper,cardboard,soft-drinks cans and suchlike.I once saw an advert the americans made there, small kid combing through the rubbish and

There are two types of rich people in the world, those who count their cash, and those who weigh it,if you need to count it your not really wealthy.

My kid is flying from Hong Kong to Bangkok in October to fish, fantastic place for freshwater leviathans, when i first went there i took a 5lb t/c catfish rod and big-pit reel, nowadays i realise thats overgunned as my last trip there in february i saw a guy pulling monsters out with a tiny 6 foot rod and reel combo,i have seen guys with shoulder harnesses, humungous multipliers and uptider rods but unless your trying for 50kg pla buk they arent really needed, get a 3lb t/c carp rod and a shimano baitrunner and your going to have fun with 9kg fish and still have the potential to handle double that

One of my mates spent some time in columbia, theres a museum which has a lot of his personal effects including diamond encrusted gold-plated colt pistols.

Jade is difficult unless your a gemologist,i have seen bits worth pennies that looked expensive, loads of sub-standard stuff in the flea-markets in beijing and HK,the chinese say if you give someone a piece they carry part of you with them wherever they go.

There was a truck stopped very close to here yesterday with 27 people on,illegal immigrants, welcome to the land of milk and honey.

Wallsend immigrants will do them for £2 Nothing like un controlled immigration to drive down prices The lads were saying sunderland even has polish shops nowadays, times change and not always for the better.
-
Just had a couple of lads down from sunderland doing a bit of work for me,one of them is a self-employed window-cleaner up there and earns £4 for a 3-bed semi whereas the bloke who does the local area down here charges £12 for the same sized dwelling, the lad from the north-east said his eyes are well and truly opened.

Same number of parents that would take a can of petrol down to the nearest off-licence or corner shop their kids were buying cans of lager or ciggies from i guess? Its a legitimate, taxable business, the dispensaries in california,or the members clubs in barcelona,or coffee-shops in holland have strict age criteria, the UK when it follows the states lead will be equally as strictly regulated, the government already licence the growing of 20 tons in this country, when america coughs the UK catches a cold,we will follow suit.

i know a guy who came out of a car-park in cobham and said to me "theres two wierd looking dogs in there" i walked round the corner and it was 2 roe deer, worst thing is the same guy is now a pest controller!

I did a coffee shop management course years ago at willie wortels, there are a number of people with a couple of quid salted away waiting in the wings, when it is legalised, and its only a matter of time, there will be money to be made.Canada, the states, and several other countries are on the ball,Richard Branston has a business plan drawn up already, the bigger corporations like BAT etc will cotton on and cash in,spain has a number of membership clubs,i even knew a few underground cafes in the uk.its just a matter of time.
-
Perhaps we need an up to date video or book, showing legal methods of trapping and snaring mink! Alot has changed in th e last 30 years or so, regarding what is within the law, and what is not! Hopefully snaremans book will be ready for print soon?

Talking Of Air Rifles......(Salad Days)
mackem replied to Rimfireboy!'s topic in General Airgun Discussion
Fantastic read,i remember seeing pics of the BSF but as a kid it was beyond my pockets,i used to net salmon as a boy, saved up my salmon and paper money and remember getting my first proper airgun, wembley vulcan Mk2 from the fishbowl pet shop in sunderland opposite mowbray park, the first day i had it i shot a rabbit at what seemed an incredible range (probably 25 yards),I think a guy called Rod Lynton did a review of th sheridan blue streak in one of the airgun mags years ago, happy days. -
White dee is in the papers today, giving us the benefit of her wisdom, saying we should allow the calais illegals into the UK,and good to see the syrian refugee in greece shouting about his "human rights" One syrian actually said if this is how we are treated in europe i want to go back to syria (but i bet he didnt).

Some countries its not so difficult, plenty disappear in places like holland or spain, but as you rightly pointed out you need a network of contacts, and a grab-bag filled with cash always helps ALA kenny knoye or someone similar. I know a gentleman at the moment,he has been languishing in a foreign nick for a shade under 2 years fighting extradition to the states, changed his name here and left the country as he had a few charges pending, went to asia met a girl, settled, has a few kids, built a really nice house in the arse end of nowhere on a white sand beach, after maybe 5 he had a really bad idea

I've had cuttlefish in Hong Kong and that was a lovely dish.Have you tried adobong pusit, you can get it in honkers though its a filipino dish, its baby squid cooked in their own ink, makes the juice black, very tasty,we used to buy fish from wanchai wet market, loads of wierd and wonderful stuff swimming around in the tanks.

I saw a program recently on isil, they were about to stone a 16 year old girl to death because the rumour was she had a boyfriend, she begged her fathers forgiveness as she prepared for the rocks, her old man said he couldnt forgive her and he was the one who threw the first brick.
