  1. Luck of the Irish as they say! You sound like you are having a great time, whilst we are all getting lousy luck and loads of bad weather. Keep it up, great story and photos.
  2. I bought a laser bore sighter.....what a waste of time they are in my opinion! just do as the other posts say.
  3. rfd = registered firearms dealer (ie the local gunshop)
  4. I do recall someone saying you can take them to a RFD anonymously who will then register it with the police and then you can get it back, so maybe make a call to your local RFD. On the other hand do you really want to own a shotgun that you don't know the full history of, maybe the old boy who owned it was a former armed robber lol! The police may be sniffing at your door pretty damn quick if it turns out to be dodgy lol!
  5. Glad to hear you have still got some foxes milling around, I was out the other night and only saw one and I had just swapped my NV onto my rimmy so I was gutted lol! Decent looking fox you got anyway. Hope you get some more this week.
  6. I got the MR1 Tactical stock from Staff Synth Stocks for my 452, not exactly cheap but looks the business :
  7. I am definitley going to give it a go sounds great!
  8. As the others have said, yes you should be fine to act as a referee, you are deemed to be a responsible person of decent character if you already have a SGC. Good luck to your mate.
  9. After the first few occasions when you have been shooting bear in mind that the rabbits learn from experience and will soon start to bolt when you turn the lamp on and it will get more difficult to get them. I have had a rabbit problem on one of my permissions and we have shot loads but now as soon as they see the lamp they are off like a shot and I have had to revert to using my NV. Remember to use the lamp as little as possible (particularly if you have only one battery). If this is your only permission I would recommend you start saving for either a decent quality NV scope for the rifle or
  10. The guys at my work left it for me in the office lol!
  11. I am by no means an expert but in my experience most foxes are shot under 150 yards, and if you are shooting them side on this gives a good size target to shoot at and I would of thought that even a barrel that has been fairly well used should be still accurate enough to deal with foxes. As you say it would be a great world if we could always buy new rifles but sometimes we need to compromise. Good luck and happy fox hunting.
  12. Nice one!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.naturalengland.org.uk/ourwork/regulation/wildlife/species/gamebirds.aspx Have a look at this.......................what not to shoot on a sunday? I think he goes shooting over the Scottish Borders mate, you can shoot game on Sunday in Scotland.
  13. If you using a .22 rimfire I would zero it in at 60 yards, most people I know that shoot a .22 rimfire sight them in at this distance.
  14. I managed to acquire this excellent vixen decoy .....well it is mating season  and I thought a dog gox my find this small vixen (ok it is about 5cm tall!) alluring and an ideal mating candidate. Sad to say it has yet to prove it self as a effective decoy, has anyone else had any success with one lol!
  15. 16. I use one of the foxcall.uk calls which works well, and I also use a cd I got from hiluxmk3 which has a load of good calls on it which works well when foxes have been called before with standard calls and are reluctant to come close.
  17. Pics agreat, looks like you had a good day.
  18. I would be extremely surprised if this was the case, can't imagine the law being that relaxed!
  19. I imagine it will go down well for the gay shooting community, but definitely not my cup of tea!
