  1. Nice size fox ....and a nice shot by the looks of it.
  2. Nice shopt placement !How far away was it, and what rifle were you using?
  3. He should phone the local FEO and explain the situation (it is more likely that the FEO will have the correct knowledge). Good luck.
  4. . Has no one anything to offer? For .22lr either a CZ452 or Ruger 10/22 you can't go wrong just depends whether you want bolt action or semi-auto. I have a CZ and am quite pleased with it, I occasionally hear the Ruger semi-auto can jam if not cleaned .... no doubt I will be corrected if wrong lol !
  5. Sounds like you are in for some good fun if it hasn't been shot in years .... keep the photos coming. Good luck.
  6. what bullets you using mate I am trying some Federal Power-Shok Soft Point, 55 Grain ...... and so far I like them lots !!!
  7. Out last night again down shooting a few rabbits (rarely see any foxes at this permission) and thought we would try a couple of fox calls anyway and see if there was anything about. We spotted the eyes in the distance and started calling it in and it warily started coming towards us, weaving in and out of the tall grass, had a bit of a problem tracking it with the NV as I thought it might suddenly might try to circle rather than head straight in. Anyway picked up the eyes again at 120 yards and decided to take my shot.....right throught the old napper splitting it in two !
  8. Out and about last night saw a couple of foxes that were staying in the shadows and not able to get a shot at, so as we were driving away we thought as it had finally stayed dry enough to let the ground dry up we would try driving around a couple of fields we hadn't lamped before and we saw some eyes and turned off the lamp and turned to NV instead and started to call it in and it started heading in just as you hope it will. Waited until it got to 85 yards away and let rip. The 22-250 certainly did some damage!
  9. Looks like they did a good job, have fun using it.
  10. Exactly ..... on you go! Anyway back to the spirit of the topic.... Looks like you had a decent night anyway. Great picture.
  11. Got this bit of info of the BASC website if it clarifies the situation: Restrictions on the taking and killing of rabbits and hares The night shooting of rabbits and hares by tenants or occupiers of land, who are not the owners of the land, are subject to the following restrictions (the restrictions do not apply to landowners). Landowners need to be aware of the legal restrictions of shooting hares at night: The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 amended Section 6 of the Ground Game Act and Section 50 of The Agricultural (Scotland) Act 1948, to allow night shooting of ground game u
  12. As we were headed home with nothing to show for the 3hrs we had been out we were slowly driving along and as we lamped one last field we spotted a pair of eyes, I thought it would be another deer cos there are loads about in that area but when we put the fox calling cd on it started running across the field towards us at such a rate I was panicking that I wouldn't be able to get the rifle out of the back car and set it up in time. Soon as it got yards away we had to shout to make it stop, then I let rip with the glorious 22-250 . Shame I can't get out tonight to get another but looking
  13. Bienvenido. Pasalo bien. I think that is correct, but my Spansish is a bit rusty lol !
  14. Sound like you have had some fun and I hope you get plenty more !
  15. It is the ATN Trident Pro 6X Night Vision Gear . Using a laser IR illuminator I was watching some foxes at over 300 yards last night, so the range is excellent as far as I am concerned.
  16. After waiting two hours after putting out a bait station and nothing appearing I put the rifle away and decided to have an early night instead, but as I was driving out of the farm and swung the lamp round for the last time I spotted this dog fox at the wood about 150 yards away, so I grabbed the rifle again and managed to bag it before I finished.
  17. Wouldn't worry it will never happen, too much paperwork and too much hassle to implement.
  18. Thanks for the feedback, think I will let it go about its business anyway and stick to the foxes.
  19. I was out foxing last night at the free range chicken farm and we came across a otter that looked like it was trying to get into the compound of the chicken shed..... I have never seen this before, it was nice to see an otter out in the wild but curious to know whether the otter had food on its mind? How would you trap an otter if it was causing problems?
  20. Looks like a damn good evening to me. How long did it take you to gut them and skin them?
  21. My opinion is withdraw it, continue your shooting at a clay club, and as suggested previously why not take up some shooting with air rifles and get some permission on some land and most importantly keep you nose clean......as you have done previously why not ask your feo if doing some more volunteer work will build your reputation with the police. Good luck what ever you decide.
  22. A mighty impressive shot. Must have a try at that distance someday, not sure how my 22-250 would fair at that kind of distance.
  23. Looks like you have been having plenty of fun there! Nice headshot. What type of lamp is it you use?
  24. Nice shooting ! Safe to say there is nothing wrong with your aim lol!
  25. easy to sort this kind of problem i would have thought, can the moderators not stop this activity and only allow one member per IP address unless they contact you to say that for example there son wants to join up from the same IP address and can assure that the site wont be used for the kind of activity you mention. hiluxmk3 Well said. The essence of the original post has been lost! Nice foxes though.
