Hi there I can help you out on the Calibre question easy enough but not the rest, someone will be along to advise soon enough though You say that you've had success with both? As do everyone who shoots both This make Cal' choice down to one thing and one thing only. Your own personal preferance My hunting rifles are .22 (because thats what they were for sale in when I got them) My plinker and mouse killer is .177 All my pistols are .177 Both do the same job equally well if you do your part The only other factor that may come into play is the cost of the pellets,

Cool he can buy them both and send one to me  Phantom

My answer to that would have been, "Yes Sir there was; you see it hurts me less when I smack the sh!te outta stuck up toffee nosed tw@ts like you; would you like me to demonstrate this for you?" Must admit, tatts aint for me although I have felt like them at times, but he should have kept his comments to himself! I'd have been sorely tempted to stick a marrigold rubber glove to his head and using him as the COCK Phantom

Although I have stripped springer befor and refurbished them, springers I dont strip that often (if ever) My baby that you see in my avatar, is the one that I strip. I don't go into the complete strip; I just loosen the allen screws to remove the barrel to wipe down or clean, sometimes I remove the wood and the air cylinder and give the whole thing a wipe over with an oily rag. Then put it back together, making sure it all nice and tight and nothing that should stay still moves. Thats it really, takes about 5 minutes. But a PCP is a totally different beast to a springer. PCP's tend to

11.8 Cutting it a little fine? what pellet you using? As for hitting and missing, Stealthy beat me to it AGAIN Phantom

My baby pcp cost me 200 and included the gun, slip, 3-9x56 Kassnar Scope, pellets and pump Yes she was second user and the RFD is a friend of mine but there are decent PCP's for not much more than what you have to splash Having said that, if you grew up with springers, your gonna feel a little "Cheated" shooting the pcp, it really makes you lazy :lazy: I keep promissing to take my Beast out, I may do it this week just for some more paper punching and to remind me I'm still alive. Yeah a real rush, straight to the fecking toilet I had it last year, half two in the morning, cruising down a country lane, the dark one poking out the pasenger window at the hedge, at first I thought it was lightning, until I looked in my rear veiw mirror I think Davyt63 had a close encounter last year too Davy had it a few weeks ago if I remember correctly, but then that was when he told me about it? When I first started PC in the Cemetery, I had Oscar 99 over me on a regular basis I have never called the police before going out but when In either the

What modifier for a BSA R-10?
Phantom replied to hamish247's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Hi there Westy, Welcome to the forum Interesting question and you will get as many answers from as many people if you were to ask what rifle they shoot So here is my take on them: Si (Zini) used to have a SAK on his BSA (I think) and he loved it especially after he did the scotchbright scouring pad upgrade. I believe he now has a TWINK on it which is even better (I used his rifle a couple of weeks ago and it was EXCEPTIONALLY quiet) I have a custom Silencer (made by UKNiel) on my Springer and it was very good at reeducing muzzle raport. Its also now had the scouring -
Hi again Maz, Yeah as above, but I have only ever cleaned the inside of my barrels if accuracy starts to fail on a consistent basis, for example 99.9 times out of 100 I shoot paper before beginning on the live stuff (when I've gone straight in on live quarry I've missed by a mile ) This makes sure that my combo is zeroed correctly and it gets my trigger finger, breathing and eyes all talking the same language so to speak. If I find the three don't want to communicate effectively I give up and go home before risking a wounded animal. Basically it means I'm shooting crap that da

Gosh, people are up bright and early today! Nice going Roger 7 is better than zero in fact that would make a lovely filling for a nice shortcrust pie wouldn't it I'm going out this evening in the hope of knocking over Rats, Bunnies (to please the land owner) a couple of Squizzers (for my own benefit and taste test!) and perhaps many of the rather Fat Woodies that seem to be around her property. Just hope I don't get another call, telling me not to go Right, gotta sh!te load of stuff to do today, so I'll say TTFN Again Roger, Nice shooting (and I'm still green with e

I left a window in the kitchen open slightly tonight so a few moths could get in, I'm gonna have to video her having a go, she's had me in stitches trying to catch em. Wife aint too pleased though as two plants got in the kittens way  Only down side is I had to clean the soil n compost up Still was worth it just for the entertainment value Phantom
-
How did you manage to get it past the wife? You'd need a block and tackle or fork lift to get it into the house  Phantom
-
Seriously Sorry about not putting your name to ratting Pointer I've never really been interested in shooting rats until a last week when I was doing a recce on an "ON OFF now ON again Permission" where I noticed a few at the far end of the garden. So I quickly developed an interest and Davy's vid's do look like fun I dont have dogs, but I got a Kitten a couple of days ago and she loves to attack the moths that make it into the house Does that count as sport I'm also getting a couple of Kits in a few days Phantom

Who? :icon_redface: Sorry Pointer Phantom

Gone the way of the 100? Cr@p, the rest of us won't stand a chance then; I was just saying on another thread he's a naturally talented shooter, now he dont have recoil to contend with thats us all out of the running, it's gonna be him or Laura for 2011 Maz (IRHunger) this is the sort of people that we are buddy Phantom

Hi Ted, I suppose Rats are like many other vermin, for instance Woodies and Ferrals prefere to stay out of the wind. when they are in the fields you will very rarely find a bird letting the wind blow up is butt, they always face into the wind. I've noticed that bunnies prefere to face into it as well, suppose its so they can smell danger? Try looking at more sheltered area during the windy sessions (unless you want to stay at home?). Regarding NV, talk to Davy about his NV set up, simple lamp with a NV filter seems to work a treat for him. Check out his Ratting NV video's I assu

I know Si is on the look out for an Ultra for a certain naturally gifted shooter If Laura is as good with the Ultra as she is with his R-10 (think its an R-10) then we will have a female "Marksman of the year" in 2011 Phantom

Your not alone PH I've not got them either and I'm so looking forward to snaffling one. The land that I had been given to shoot the buggers on by my neighbours daughter-in-law was revoked by her husband The day I was due to go knock some over. He decided that if its that easy he was going to go buy himself a rifle and do it himself he came back with a second user BSA Springer. He got it in Hull, so if its owt like the second hand "FULL POWER HW70 Pistol " that had just been serviced by Hull Cartridge the day before I parted with my cash at this particular RFD in Hull; then he m

Welcome back Shay good to have you back again Was hoping to be out today with my baby, but having repaired my pump, started to give her a filling today, another seal went bang You mention an email Shay, erm..... Either I didn't get it or I've had my head up my ass and binned it without reading it, so if you could please re-send it to me? Also do you want your pricing structure put on the site? If so then drop me a line as to what you want adding or removing/changing to the site I sent you on disc. Once its all finalized we can look at finding some hosting and a domain name for

I can understand his caution though Mark, Like I said, I've had a fair amount of racist abuse and crap thrown at me since I was at school and I'm 'supposed' to be a purebred white english according to my mother, my brother on the other hand tells me different, but that could be him trying to stir things in an already 'fragile' relationship. But like you say, most, if not all don't give a flying feck about that sort of thing. Damn it it raining again, guess I aint going shooting this evening Phantom
