Hi again Ted, Simple answer is not much really. Some people clean the barrel every few thousand pellets or so with a pull through it bit of tissue on fishing line (thats as much as I have done) Generally its just a quick wipedown with an oily rag or one with a touch of WD40 on it. what rifle do you use bud? Forgot to say, Long shots are a no no if you wobble. Lots of paper punching required til you perfect the Art Just out of interest, what do you call a long shot? Phantom

Thouroughly agree with Ron, Stealthy and Davy A bipod is not going to help you ESPECIALLY with long shots on a bunny (or any other quarry), they are just going to either leg it or laugh at you for trying A small bag that has some sort of filling such as sand or something lighter will help you much more than a pod Especially if you like to shoot prone Its funny I can't shoot a springer prone for toffee, but standing or sitting, I'm fine. With my PCP I have great difficulty shooting it standing yet prone, I very rarely miss! Phantom

Hell if you think thats bad news' Id love to know what good news was! I think you've just made it to the reliable hunting rifle squad. You aint gonna go wrong with the AA buddy Now go get the quarry, if you do your part properly you aint gonna miss or wound any with that baby With such a fine piece of kit as that, if you miss its down to a hi-speed bunny or more likely you, not the gun Welcome to the wonderful world of Air Arms Phantom

Wait a minute!!!! Hang on there guy's, Rushty asked a simple question, no need really to jump down his throat! Rushty, if they are calling you out and your not doing it "As and When YOU feel like it", then I think that you would be perfectly justified in raising the issue with the person calling you out REGARDLESS of engine size! Gently tell them, that you will have to ease off on the number of visits you can make it due to the cost and your own time constraints. Perhaps tell them, that you would rather call round once a week or a fortnight and spend more time in one session than

I personally think if YOU asked them for shooting permission, then asking for payment is out of order However if they have asked you to work for them, then its entirely up to you and the owner to come to an agreement. I have 4 such permissions where I have been asked to Cull rather than me asking them. All have asked me how much I charge per hour or for the job and I have allways replied "I don't usually charge" They then usually insist on paying for my ammunition, and I tell them the price of a tub of AAF's One lady insisted that I take enough for a tub every time I have been. Not as far as I am aware, there never used to be But theservice is only (as far as I am aware) for people on low incomes. Being on Incapacity Benefit I should qualify again. Mind you if I was working, I wouldn't need to trapse all the way into Hull as there are a good 8 or 9 vets between here and Hull! One has litterally just opened up about 300 yards from me and the next one is just across the road about half a mile away... Phantom

Hi again tripple-T The weather can make a difference especially in extreme such as deep snow etc... Rabits will drink up the water that seeps through in to the warren and not many people believe me but this IS true, Rabits have the ability to eat their own droppings and live on the nutrients that are still in them So they can stay down warren for a very long time But if your asking will they be out in the rain/light snow then yes they are, strange thing is they never seem to get very wet even in heavy rain. But as soon as you put a pellet in the brain box, that all changes and t

Nice going Alex Bet the owner was well and truely chuffed with that bag Phantom

Thats an easy oneJac NONE! You can use a lightly oiled rag on the outside of the pistol to protect it from the elements, but you shouldn't need to oil anything other than the hinge maybe a drop every year or two. Certainly don't put oil inside the barrel, as you dont want it to start dieselling and knackering up the spring, piston and seals etc.. Its a good very well made lump of engineering that will last you a lifetime with very little effort on your part. Perhaps have it serviced every couple or three years but thats basically it Phantom

Nice one Tris & Truf 1st visit, 1st quarry I'd avoid the eye shots though; unless there sat quatering on to you where you would be going to the back of the brain at the far side via they eye I blanked on my new permission on the 1st visit the other morning But I did score the next door neighbours property as well and thats twice or three times the size SPA Phantom

Come right out and tell him that if he would like; you'll be more than happy to help out with his bunny problem Free Of Charge. But don't wait till you've finished do it while your chatting. He maybe thinks that you may charge so he's not interested; dropping hints just don't work Tris, be upfront Farmers are (well the few that I have known are anyway) straight up honest hard grafters and they like to be treated straight up and with respect. Hints mean your skirting round things, he will appreciate you being direct with him even if he says no; he may call you back at a later date

I have an Idea Take it back and tell them that the regulated valve aint regulating properly A regulated valve means it regulates the amount of air that passes it; so it should allow the same amount of air for each and every shot (or very close to the same amount) if your readings are that inconsistant, then I'd say the regulator is fecked Phantom

Yeah, thats right, they do ask for a donation. I will gladly make a good donation to the PDSA; they did a lot for me many years ago, when I had a dog and I was out of work. Phantom

Thank you Mal, Those were just a few of the questions I've been thinking of and the ones that were playing on my mind. I wonder if I could get the vasectomy for the Hob done at the PDSA? Phantom

Those piccies don't look frosty Okay, heres a couple of newbie question for yaw'l and its genuine as I am a newbie to ferreting, So new I've only got the hutch, food and two ferts with a reserved tag on them. I heard somewhere the other day that if a Jill is in season and she aint getting humped by a hob she will need an injection to bring her out of season (wish it was like that with women! far less grief I'm sure) and if she does not get it she is likely to die? Is the bit about her dying genuine? How old is a Jill likely to come into season and how many times a year is she likely
