  8. Just returned from Bunnyland in the hope of retrieving his corpse, it would have been pushing it trying to preserve a pelt over 8 hours old, but it was worth a try as his coat was gloss black and looked very thick for this time of year. Sadly there was no sign of Linford; and Mrs G (whose land he had made it back to before expiring) said she hadn't seen him this morning. I told her I had shot him last night and the old dear replied "Ah well another one less, good on you!" she said that she had seen another young Black bunny in her large paddock; she said it was only about 5 or 6 inches so
  9. Thanks Ron, I'm just going to get two for the time being, maybe more when I get my own place. But for the moment just two that way when I cant play with them they can keep each other company, but I just know I'm going to be messing with them all day long cuz I'm a big ole softie! Phantom

  16. Well after my recce around my latest land aquasition, I told the woman that I hadn't brought my gun because I hadn't been out with it since I put it back together when I came home from Swindon and I would need to check it over before I brought it to her property. In other words, I didn't want to look a prat missing any because I hadn't filled or checked zero since rebuilding her. So this evening I decided to have a wander down to the Paddock and Cemetery. Stuck the paper out at 35 yards and sent one down the pipe. Looked through the scope and hey presto, it landed about half inch high
  17. Nice going buddy Corker of a story as well Makes my evening in the Cemetery sound positively boring Phantom
  18. Stop bitchin' n start pumping :11: Hiya buddy, Read the book and now reading it again, before I send it back to you Great book Gotta get a new batch of DVD's this Wednesday, so The little project we discussed should be done wednesday evening TTFN Phantom
  19. I'll second that one (again) I think every one that attended was like that totally unselfish and I've certainly made some fantastic friends for life Thanks Andy, maybe at the next one we'll get to chat more Phantom
  20. I got back from a recce of the new permission earlier this evening I saw 4 rather large Rats at the far end of the garden; one of the locals keeps chickens! Saw 7 Squizzers, couldn't count up the Woodies in the trees in the garden! The owner is going to set her alarm early and also have a look out late to see if she can see how many bunnies she can actually count. So far someone said that when they had a BBQ last week he counted 12 in broad daylight. The back lawn is a little over 40 yards by 30 yards and that doesn't include the patio area or decking area. Lots of places
  21. Some people liken the recoil on a rammer to that of a shotty as its so quick. I must say that I have only fired one rammer and it was a dream to shoot; lovely. Like andy says, no need to worry about leaving it cocked. But I personally think that the main benefit of the rammer is the shorter lock time (the time the pellet spends in the barrel after it leaves the breech). This in itself can lead to better accuracy as the pellet is on route to the target before the recoil has chance to knock the front of the barrel off target. (if yah get my drift?). Phantom
  22. :11: Reckon I've pulled more lead outa corpses than there is on a Church roof
  23. The only true expansion of a pellet in a sub 12ft/lbs rifle or pistol in this country is simply when the skirt recieves the initial blast of air which causes the skirt to expand to make a seal with the barrel and rifling. Shoot some quarry with carious pellets flat, domed, pointed or hollow point and then retrieve the pellet from the quarry to see the deformation of the pellet. The deformation barely exists. The most deformed pellet I have retrieved from a quarry's brain had a slight mark where it hit the bone and the initial blast deformation of the of the skirt. Yes when you shoo
