  1. SA the rape capital of the world and everyone's assuming that he was just there to nick a tele.Dogs did their job it's just a shame that one was put down for it.
  2. Entitled to your opinion but if somebody broke into my house or shed or what ever I'd want my dogs to stop them. Don't take another mans stuff and expect to get away with it. you right i am entitled to my opinion, so you think killing a man with a dog for nicking a tele is right i agree its not nice but neither is six months inside. I have no respect for thives they disrespect other people's human rights they should get none, I'd do what ever it takes to eliminate the threat if anybody broke into my house. I do believe the owners allowed the dogs to go to far if the man only stole a t.v
  3. Better off getting yourself a straight spaniel mate.
  4. There's so many variables mate even with what I call a traditional bandog neo/bull it can depend on the percentage of mastiff blood, deep genration bandogs can come really become athletic if each generation has been selected for athleticism. And then of course you've got stuff being produced and called bandogs which could be a cross of 5 or 6 breeds ie neo/AB/pressa x corso/rottie/pit and then it's anyone's guess as to what you'll get size or temperament wise.
  5. if your terriers doing its job properly you won't be blocking tubes just loosing maybe 2ft of a stop end.If you start chucking logs and tree stumps in there you've then got to dig that shit out the next time the quarry goes to that stop end
  6. I keep Traditional type bandogs for that exact reason because of their stable laid back attitude coupled with a natural guarding instinct.I kept AB for a very long time which Alapaha are basically a type of.The main difference is AB'S and Alapaha were both making a lot of money at one point so we're churned out and became multi generations deep from untested stock in a very short space of time. Whereas the traditional type bandogs still seem to have a small group of fanciers who don't want them becoming the new in dog to have and are a lot more serious in working and testing possible breeding
  7. He is registered, parents passed breed suitability tests. I think he guards thats my point really he doesn't bark or show any aggression out and about or at home but I don't think he sees any threats and I just wondered if that was typical of the breed. if there like all bulldog breeds + american bulldog, they will have alot of health probs Your right there bird. I've looked at plenty of guarding breeds and the vast majority of them suffer with health problems of some sort. Fancied an Alaunt but like hens teeth around my way. I'm pleased with the dog in general I was just expecting a
  8. Can I ask you what you think of their working qualities? pm if you like (Sorry if I'm messing with your thread HPR) If you mean hunting type work I wouldn't bother but if you mean protection work some are ok probably on par with the American Bulldog but just like the AB for every good one out there there's also a lot of shit ones with pedigrees full of dogs that have done nothing apart from produce litter after litter.
  9. What if someone has done that though ? I've had Terriers, bull crosses and various bull breeds over the last 25yrs and never had one from a pup that I haven't been able to walk or run loose through stock using that method.
  10. Best way to stop a dog stock worrying is to get off your arse when it's a pup and get it out amongst livestock everyday.
  11. Sent you a pm pal I train with somebody who's got some of the top working and showing dogs in the country.
  12. If anyone out there has a litter or is planning a litter in the near future I'm looking for a bitch pup.Pm me if you have or know of anything.
  13. What speedway team do you follow mate.It used to be Hackney mate.Used to go with me dad and uncle as a kid. Hanging on the side rails on the bends. I don't follow any particular team. Just like to watch it on the box now. My old man and his mate used to take me to watch The Eastbourne Eagles every Sunday when I was a kid.My sisters godfather used to race for them as well as racing for Denmark. My old man stopped going in the early 90s when his best mate died so I took him down there for a surprise on his 6th a couple of years back .The place hadn't change one little bit in 25yrs but it's got
  14. thats suprised me.id have thought most salukis would take fox with ease. with ease yeah start of the season young fox no problem, when they meet a good strong winter fox they soon throw in the towel as i seen on more than 1 occasion when there not getting there own way.had a bitch was flying her first season but never really met a good fox till her second season and she jacked and wouldnt even course them after that.new off 1 dog that was a proven dog but now dead.but like i say a proven dog is hard to find not a dog that takes 2 or 3 a season and classed as a fox dog.i think saluki bull gre

  16. You can guess it's one of them as soon as you get up behind them hogging the fast lane. They haven't got a f***ing clue how to read the road ahead.
  17. find a fox is a bit of an understatement mate I saw him walk into a field winding the air run flat out to a piece of cover push a fox out and kill it after a short run.At another spot he marked an earth so we put a terrier in he spent the next 10 minutes walking around on top then he dived head first into a hole and pulled a fox out.Sounds a cracking dog DS any pics of himNo mate I only ever saw the dog 3 times.Twice was to watch the dog work after hearing so many stories about the dog and once when I went up one night to breed him to my 3/8 5/8 bitch.Ah right how did the litter turn out from

  20. One of the best fox catching lurchers I've witnessed was a genuine first cross named rumour who was a half brother to the well known first cross Punch who was no slouch on the foxes either.I saw the dog find and catch 3 daytime foxes at 10 yrs old.But then again they were bred from proper bred bulldogs unlike a lot of these modern day bull crosses that are being bred out of big stupid mungrel bred bull types that's why they're producing plodding great useless things that couldn't catch a fox in a phone box.
  21. Cracking attitude to take towards getting a new dog pal you should get out to a club see some Mals and herders being worked get an idea of what they're like when they're switched on.What he needs to get an idea of is what they're like when they won't switch off haha.
  22. Do pit bulls not quit then and boerboels are just mastiffs not gamedogsNever said a boerbell was a game dog I know what they are and yes pit bulls can quit but they won't quit before a catA cat is not going to willingly fight with a dog but it's not just gunna roll over and let a dog kill it.A dog is going to quit before the cat dies.Yes the cat would probably flee the first chance it got but I don't think it would get killed.
