  1. I tried triangles but getting 2 the same is nigh on impossible, why 2? well when Im knitting away from the mesh holder weight, when the weight touches the floor I put in the 2nd holder about 6 rows from my last row and start again. so I know use a mesh holder thats flat across the bottom (various widths depending on twine being used)the arms are 90 degrees upright with a hook on each side which clip onto the loop opposite end to the weight, this loop is stainless steel cable crimped (to form the loop) and 7'6" long down to the weight which is a towing ring from a chain, the 7'6" is the height of
  2. got to be worth at least a grand snoop......... you wont be along way off there mate.. aol343434.jpg aol3535353.jpg aol36363636.jpg the slips are in very good condition, but they are Irish pattern slips not English. the Irish slips have a pin that holds the collars the English on the other hand have what can be best described as a tapered spur that sits on the opposing collars spur, the finer the spurs the better they were for slipping the dogs level. The spurs fitted inside "arms" on each side of the leash Y.I.S Leeview
  3. and when she comes back in season 6 weeks after the jab then what will you do? Y.I.S Leeview Hoping she won't do the same thing, if she does then may have to look into doing something more long term which I don't particularly want to do. If she is more 'normal' in her season then I'll leave her HOPING? jills will come back in season after either jab or vasectomised hob 6 weeks after when they dont produce kits Y.I.S Leeview

  7. on a loop with a tail of 18" of twine to whip it onto a ring, the end ring can be finished of the needle at the end. I weigh my needles and then weigh them again when they have enough twine to make a net loaded, I also weigh them to see how much twine I use on a row.Obviously once you have done it you dont need to do it again until you change twine. Its quite surprising how much a 500g spool varies +/- Y.I.S Leeview

  10. managed to watch and listen to that vid for the first 5 minutes, anyone making nets his way please tell what happens when you finish the net before putting the draw cord through if you suspend it from the ring? It will twist like a rope on itself guaranteed. and the cause? loading the needle from a vertical spool it comes off twisted and stays twisted when you knit with it. Answer load your needle with the spool horizontal with a bar or twine going through the centre of the spool, does nt matter wether the twine comes from above or below the spool it wont twist Y.I.S Leeview
  11. basically I increase every other row so Im not adding to a half mesh its always a full mesh that I increase on and at each end to balance it out, just how I was shown many years back Y.I.S Leeview
  12. Start with 8 next row increase at each end giving you10 DONT increase the next row, next row increase at both ends giving you 12,DONT increase the next row and so on by the 10th row you should have 18 half meshes wide do 3 rows at 18 then decrease at each end of every other row back down to 8,Depends what size mesh board as to what length the net ends up at, mine are 4'8"using a 21/4" board Y.I.S Leeview

Round 2. Flynn and myself did the weekly shop at the same Tesco's today, I dropped her off and then joined her instore. I was very surprised she had nt noticed the arspca were in the doorway (same guy different woman)the woman smiled but I cut her down with the words "your going to cop it" I found Flynn and told her they were in the doorway "NO WAY" was her response we completed the shop and I was left at the till to check it through, while she went into attack mode. I kept one eye on and her arms were like a whirling dervish. I packed the trolley and left to find the arspca had left and no s

Can someone send a link of these details to TESCO's, as I called into tesco's Wragby Road, Lincoln. yesterday and the arspca were collecting for animal rescues. I fired into the guy about this case and he claimed to know nothing about any such case and was very apologetic for what had happened and claimed to be just a fund raiser for them (he was from Doncaster) "raising funds for what ? more HQ's at £16m that could of helped a lot of animals" several other shoppers stopped and asked what it was all about and he upped and left. Cant see Tesco's or any other business looking too kindly to publ

All's good with your sentiments there sb,and Im not saying many members dont feel the same but the arsepca is very wealthy and have cash to throw at court cases good or bad. Anyone thought of contacting Jeremy Vine he loves cases like this? The Kennel Club put dogs welfare at the top of their agenda no matter what some may think of them. The Royal family the Queen is there figure head hence the Royal in their title, little chance of getting a direct response from Her Majesty but Princess Anne, the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall very big on dogs and keen fieldsport supporters. 18. I cant recall ever looking for a small net in the bag always look for the bigger ones, so with that in mind I make all my nets 23 rows on a 21/4" meshboard start at 8-18-8 giving me a 4'8" net suits all holes I come across Y.I.S Leeview

True pk they will die unless they are handled correctly, I doubt I could count on the fingers of one hand how many have died from being netted to relocation, and the figures would be in the thousands over several years from Northumberland to Hampshire and East Anglia to Cheshire. Dido Scottish National used to course on some turf land in Lancs Y.I.S Leeview

What makes you think the hares will settle where you release them? Lancs is pretty flat where the hare used to abound and bringing hares from east coast is rolling hills until you get down to Anglia, so a lot different terrain to what they were used to. How many hares are you after relocating? more than 6 and gatenets wont be an option I've been netting hares when we have had up to 6X 100yds nets in a line, with 15 men to remove and box the hares, then theres the beaters, the more the merrier (had mornings out and all the kids in a village(well known coursing village)have been brought along

It's interesting that since the decline of the lapwing the incidence of liver fluke is a lot higher not only in sheep but in wild animals also. TC possibly the liver fluke is the cause of the lapwings demise? Y.I.S Leeview
