Good point kingfisher.
I fell into a 6 foot swim years ago....middle of winter, can't swim...
Were like a cat....clawed me way out and escaped with a wet leg, but could have been far worse....
We seem to have a few people here taking the piss out of 'other cultures' for their intolerance, but then demanding that we show similar intolerance here.
That wasn't aimed at Al, btw, just a general comment on this thread....
I'd be bloody livid, but if the items were of limited value I'd probably not do anything about it.
I would, however have made an appropriate comment on the sale thread.....
There was a big campaign to exterminate them in East Anglia 30 years or so ago.
Mate's wife's father was an old-style marsh man and kept one as a pet. When the exoermination people asked him about it, he claimed it was a ferret. A 3 foot high ferret with big yellow teeth that ate apples....yeah....
They never did get it.
The buggers do a lot of damage to river banks, so you should be able to spot where they are easy enough.
Very true, hence my comment about the locals.
I guess it's not unknown for someone local to 'dispose' of some of their junk on a site travellers have just vacated.
And those who use a site and leave it as clean as when they arrived, aren't going to be commented on. That's human nature unfortunately. Leave the place a tip and the local press goes ballistic.
I'm always up for meeting for a laugh (and you will when you see me fishing) so if anyone fancies a meet on a Sunday at a reasonable day ticket water then lets hear from you.
There's always Catton Hall near Burton?
