Can't comment on taxes paid, or Council Tax paid, but the bunch that camped at the top of our road a few years ago weren't particularly clean living, if the enormous piles of sh1te they left behind were anything to go by. They were there 2 weeks. Would have taken the local chavs 3 months to create that amount of mess. -

3 points/£60, OR if you're lucky, a 'Speed Awareness Course' option, since your license is clean. You still pay £60 to be patronised and drink tea for 3 hours, but you avoid the points. Forget this bollocks of 'dragging it out' and just pay the money and get on with your life. It shouldn't make any difference to your insurance renewal, but you'd be advised to tell them because it can cause problems if you claim later and haven't disclosed it.

Just read your link Mal. The proposal is utter bollocks, but what else do you expect when the EU dabbles in anything to do with Science? I went shore fishing at least once a week for several years when I lived in the North East.....caught bugger all. Not much of a risk to fish stocks there.....

Here's my problem, gnasher. I'm not at all convinced that you can breed for behavioural characteristics. I fully accept you can breed for physical characteristics, and maybe the potential to be good at whatever it is you want the dog to do, but I suspect that the ability to do complex tasks (rather than just be aggressive) is probably learned rather than bred for. I also think that anyone who has the time to line-breed for many years to get the dog they want, knows dog training inside out and can spot a dog with 'potential' a mile off. Without wishing to offend you, gnasher, it doesn't matter what you're breeding the dog for, basic genetic principles hold. If you inbreed, you increase the risk (note the terminology: you don't guarantee) that harmful recessive gene characteristics will show up in your dogs. As has been stated elsewhere, these animals will be culled out, so it looks to an outsider that there isn't a problem. Scotty said 'Captain, ye cannae change the Laws of Physics!' Sadly, it's the same for genetics, no matter what breeders choose to believe. 'Deliverence' anyone?

Are there any issues RE loss of rifling length/reduced pellet spin, ptindall? I would have thought the easiest solution would be to sell the rifle and buy a carbine.

Chris and TSA make good points. You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to work out who's taking the piss out of the law on here. The least people could do is make them work for the info, but no.
