Rabbits are vermin, so if they are locally rare then I would have thought that would be to the advantage of land owners. The only reason i can think of for 'restocking' in this country is for the benefit of hunters. But many rabbiters seem to style themselves as 'pest controllers'. Odd sort of 'pest control' to reintroduce the pest.....

Interesting debating technique there, Will. Be interested to know what Countryboyo's alleged personal habits have to do with his proposal to breed a vermin species. Personally, I think it's a bonkers idea. You have permission to clear vermin not preserve them. If you don't do that, why have the permission? Unless of course, you're amateurish enough to think you've got it for pleasure not work. I'd tell you to grow up, but you will do in a few years, hopefully Will....

trust me on this one, liquidise a white loaf minus the crust (cheap as possible) then take a few slices of decent bread for hook bait. then just ball the crumb in or use a feeder. if you have no faith in it then just take it along with your normal bait and give it a go some time during the session. i promise you that if there is a chub there then it should be fairly instant take Cheers mate. I'll give that a go sometime soon.

Most TV fishing is unrealistic anyway. 'Lets get the cameras out and film someone sitting still for half an hour, then pulling out a half pound roach!' Bloody rivetting eh? Chris Yates was the only bloke who came close.

Aye, chub are a saviour on a frosty day. I've caught them on maggot swimfeeder in these conditions. Not brave enough to try bread .

The malt paste reccommended by stubby is good stuff for distracting, but if you can't get hold of it use a squirt of olive oil on her belly. That's what i use. Keeps 'em occupied while you clip. I'm just down the road in Tam, so if I can help gizza PM mate. -

what cichlids do you have i 1/2 own i cichlid forum you should have a look lol Central Americans mainly. Water in Tam is pretty hard, so I just go with the flow.....

Tits and blackbirds are insectivorous anyway. They do good, getting rid of pests.

People who don't have a clue are normally Pet ferret owners who feed nothing but dry food to a meat eater. Ferreters have kept working animals for centuries not flurry ferret fanciers. More dribble and petty pet owner vs working animal cobblers.......... If you don't know the answer why not just say so, and leave the peurile baiting to the kids?

Recent research suggests that they got the year wrong too. The proximity of 'Christmas' to the shortest day suggests to me it was a festival to cheer people up in the depths of winter. The days are (slowly at first) getting longer now. I'll be able to go fishing, and ride to work without freezing my nuts orf.

Amazon are very good at sending things in dribs and drabs, and not having everything in stock that they try to sell you. I use them, but only as a last resort. Play.com are pretty good, Waterstones are shite.
