  3. Here's what i use....pm woodga he will sell you a few.
  4. if a fox is taking them then rabbit fur will be around the area from all the tugging. yes that is true BUT not always the case, the rabbits can sometimes get caught round the waist and will struggle like mad,so there will be fur shed over the area.So this could have happened to this lad and because he was not tying his snares properly the wire as come off and just left a patch of fur and flat grass behind,so he thinks FOX. In the pic below was a rabbit caught round the waist as you can see there is fur laying about where it as struggled.Pic a bit small, but if you look above the rabbit
  5. how would you recomend i tackle this then,, what method,, im snaring off raised fencing were i can see were there getting under,, im using fence snares. thanks Without a pic mate its hard to say,but from the sound of things snares are the way,if they are coming under the fence you could try bodygrips. But like i say without a pic its hard to help. Can you post a pic of the fence??
  6. That sentance cracked me up as well Followed by " Next thing I know is he forced me to ride on the back of his motorcycle all day, and not left me off, because his girl friend was out of town and I was almost a woman."
  7. and as for my knots i just whip over the fence twice then twist back down the snare With the sound of it you are not tying your snares on properly, you need to use the half hitch knot, there was a post up in this section about it. Use that knot and you will not lose a rabbit or snare. you could be getting hares as well in your snares, thats why you are loosing snares, the way you tie them might hold rabbits, just, but i don't think they will hold a hare.

  16. I would go round the buries a few days before ferreting to cut all the undergrowth back.So you will have no need to carry a slasher or sickle on the day of ferreting. Then all you will have is your net bag, ferret box and spade. Before i got a 4x4 i had to carry all my gear,i used to have a 65litre rucksack,i would put all ther purse nets in at the bottom, then food and flask on top,got a bungee rope and tied the spade to the side with that. Then just sling it on your back, adjust the straps and you can carry it all day long with no problems. You then have your hands free to carry any rabbits t
  17. thnks mr tea pot.why i asked is you cant class a rabbit snare as a relaxing snare-can you.or rat snares set up on benders. Why can't you say the rabbit snare is not a relaxing snare??Have you ever done any snaring???

  20. I don't think you can use locking snares for any animal in the uk. Not sure about the stops on fox snares though,i think they might be a legal requirment,to stop deer getting trapped in them, not sure though.
