Went ferreting yesterday, got talking to a bloke you told me about a field with a few rabbits on.Found out who owned it turns out it belongs to the farmer who gave me permission in november so that was lucky . Its a grass field and rape field and the rabbits are coming out of a wood to feed there arn't any holes apart from a little sett on the permission bit,i don't have permission to go into the wood. But as got runs all over it so it looks like i will be setting a few snares on it A few pics. The grass field which is covered with runs. A few runs where the rabbits are comi

  17. Hi folks i have just been given a roll of 1 inch by 1 inch weld mesh and i thought i could make a few rabbit cage traps with it. So i need to know the lenght, width and height of them,i have looked on the internet and they all seem diferant lentghs and that.So if you folks could help out it would be great.thanks in advance MTP
  18. The weather does affect snaring,i set some hoops out on saturday where there is a few rabbits then the snow came, which will keep the rabbits in.Rabbits won't travel far out in bad weather ie:snow frost or heavy rain, you need a dark windy night same as lamping it is then that the rabbits move out into the fields to feed.I am not saying this is true of all rabbits just going on what i have found by snaring in differant weather conditions.
  19. Get yourself to specsavers andy . Nice going mate anyway, nice open setts with the look of it.
  20. The trains don't run when there are leaves on the line so with all that snow there i think he is safe

  23. I have just rang him up and he said he pulled on to his drive, decided to have a ciggie and woke up 2 hours later .I must have worked him too hard made my day that when he told me that
  24. Yes mate no probs i have shown him the way he can carry a mountain of gear for a start he had two ferret boxes, net bag and spade,i had a flask so full marks there.Joking aside he watched evrything i did including digging and he listened to what i had to say as well then put it in to practice, had to put him right on a few things nothing major,so yes he will pass, only one BIG MAJOR PROBLEM he only drinks coffee  so i will have to get him away from the darkside and get him onto tea
