I didn't watch it, but -24 seems a bit extreme for a lurcher to live in a wooden box! I personally like to give mine a bit of comfort. I find they do better if there kept warm and not hammered daily.
I've always said that if you see a real good dog and want one like it, use its sire, as that the one that made it, rather than using the dog it's self.
I think it varys from litter to litter. The young dog I've got, and all it's siblings bar one, are Identical to the farther, which was a red, smooth dog. And the dam was a black n tan feathered bitch. Other litters I've seen have thrown to the dam.
For those who slag off haye, he was undisputed cruiser weight champ. Only when there was no one else left he moved up a weight and beat much bigger guys. Pretty impressive if you ask me.
