  2. A good afternoons sport in great company.I cant think of a better way to spend a couple of hours on a summers day.I think there were more rats to be had outside but it was too warm for the dogs. Mandas young dog gets better every time i see it and makes me want another terrier pup
  3. cheers lads,we had another 30 with the dogs this afternoon and theres more rat shooting lined up for the rest of the month. The rabbit shooting should start as from next month untill the lurchers are back in action after the crops and hay come down.
  4. I worked through dinner today at work so that we could get away early to go fishing. The weather seemed ok and id heard the mackeral had started to show up.When we got to the pier the wind was building up and the sea was getting a bit choppy and it didnt look good.Plenty of lads were trying for mackeral but nobody had caught any.All we had for bait was mackeral as we werent staying long and i quickly caught two small Flounder. However it all went quiet for us as the lads who had brought ragworm with them started to haul up canny sized flatties two and three at a time.Ive caught flatties on macke
  5. Ratting with either a gun or a dog is fantastic sport even if you only take one or two.I partake in several types of hunting and ratting is as good as any.
  6. good going camokid. i havent shot many rats in the last few weeks but as from next week ill be making up for lost time.
  7. my mates going there in a few weeks time so he did a search on the net about what fishing is available.some site said that theres a chance of smoothound from the beach.to us that seemed pretty good. ive been to mablethorpe before but all i did was drink and id just got with Hedgehunter27 off here so we em talked alot ..................i should have tried the fishing.
  8. The dog is mad mate He did catch my biggest rat of the year last week though so he has his uses.
  9. it wont be long now, untill then the summer is passing along nicely. see you soon
  10. nice one Dave ill have to start having a look out with you in the next few weeks mate.
  11. LOL, I can see the funny side now, at the time it really hurt, my missus thinks its the funniest thing ever, wishes she had it on tape could of had £200 off the TV two seasons ago i had a young and inexperienced but very powerfull bull cross run into me one night on the durham/northumberland border.i felt sick with the pain in my knee.i tried to walk it off but had to be helped back to the motor and that was lamping over.it was a friday night and i also missed the weekends rabbiting aswell.
  12. im happy to say this dog is now killing its rats alot better thats all ive got for now as everything else ive filmed has already been edited from camcorder tape onto 5 dvds and i dont know how you take clips from dvd yet.it cant be hard but im not very computer minded
  13. dave if you look on the lurcher section ive put up a clip of alfie ratting.he does love his rats
  14. some clips arent loading or are cutting off short, they are ok on my computer but arent always transferring over to photobucket properly.sorry. ill try a bit more another day.
  15. both terriers are plummer/nuttall crosses..............the red one is mine and the black un is arcticguns.
  16. dont encourage me lads or ill be sticking clips up everyday for eternity
  17. on my computer the sound isnt inline with the video but thats not such a big deal.
  18. i dont know if this will work but im trying to learn how to upload video.the clip is crap i just want to know if it plays.
  19. look they bring a few qualities into a lurcher, same as a collie or bull or bedlington or whatever would crossed with a greyhound or other running dog. why a pointer cross?........why not if you want to know what my bitch does best thats easy............she is a cracking ratting dog.
  20. think long and hard about weather such a cross is really what you want.a half cross might be fairly slow and have the turning circle of an articulated lorry.the second cross, something with a 1/4 pointer in might be a better bet for many. i have a nine month old pointer bred lurcher pup here that i need to find a home for.its out of dougy which warren has put a pic up off and used on Nell to a half cross gwp greyhound.ill get a pic up when i get chance.he is a canny dog and id be happy with him if i needed another lurcher.however im looking to partake in another type of hunting in the seaso
