I really don't know what type of hunting/running dog I would not own. I have what I have because they suit my needs, I can communicate with them, and they are suited for the ground that I have permission to work them on. There's a dog out there for everyones needs, however some owners are inpatient and write the cross off instantly.

Some are too interested in what others think. If your happy to share your experiences, give and take advice, and along the way have a laugh then so be it. It's the ones who CONSTANTLY strip apart peoples threads and attack their replies. Why? Quick call the RSPCA! My advice would be (if you already done so) is kindly ask your neighbour to secure them, and give the reasons why, and then make note of it. If they were to fly/enter in your garden and your dog kills them/injure them, your neighbour has the right to bring you to a small claims court, however this very rarely happens (especially over chickens, unless they are prize stock, but then the right owner would have better knowledge not to make them wonder) This would also cost your neighbour money, and lots of it too. There's more rabbits than grass here. You can't beat a good dog that can take a healthy number of rabbits per night/day and not to carry an injury is a bonus.

Yes Fagan have worked hounds and terriers, ground can be awful in most places, however hare coursing, what ever you want to call it is banned from there. Infact hunting anything with running dogs is banned. I get on with alot of the locals that way, best thing to do really, it goes a long way. I don't know your circumstances, but really get to know the locals and they will except you, then it's all go!
