  1. I had a 6ft dig in sand a few years ago and when i eventually got there, there were 4 rabbits in a stop end. I was so knackered I called it a day
  2. I have had a mk3 for just over a year now and cant fault it. They do take a bit of getting used to though, I remember thinking when i first got it "why did I spend all this money on this?" but with perseverance I have found it better than the mk1. Also I have never had a collar fall off, I just make sure they are very tight.
  3. Some of the things you post just go to show how much of an idiot you are Don't shoot them full stop with an air rifle!!! OK in your opinion its wrong to shoot a pheasant with a air rifle In mine i think its ok if you can do the job properly. sorted Then you should not be let loose with an air gun. Its as simple as that. Take a look at ANY of the recognised shooting organisations and all of them condone shooting pheasants with a 12ft/lb air rifle.

  5. Im guessing her that you are a young boy, who thinks that it is glamorous to say he goes out shooting. Here is the reality...... You are nothing but a naive little twat Just because there is not a shoot on your land dosent mean that the birds do not belong to a near by shoot. Pheasants will forage where there is food and return at night to roost, they do not know boundaries like you or I. So just think how much time and effort a game keeper has spent raising those birds next time you think about pulling the trigger. As Woodchip said each bird is worth alot of money to a shoot and people like
  6. So when were those pheasants shot?
  7. So if your not bothered with pheasants , why shoot them in the first place?
  8. Well done mate were they all clean?
  9. I really can't believe what I have just read Here are 2 supposed country lads, 1 hasn't got a clue about quarry and how and how not to kill them and even the open season for his "quarry" and then we have another one who is advocating poaching. Flinty I am hoping that you are naive and new to field sports and can be guided in the right direction but willrennyferreter you i'm afraid are just a twat. How can you brag about poaching? There are alot of young people out there who read these posts. What sort of impression does that give?
  10. Well done fella but something tells me that you need to go with someone experienced. Killing the rabbit should be done quickly so as not to cause undue suffering. Plus they can show you how to set your nets properly and lots more
  11. Has the mother gone hard around her nipples ?
  12. We have isolated cases but it seems very strong its only a matter of time before it becomes very wide spread though
  13. i have a silver hob and a poley jill in bedford or is that too far away mate?
  14. I would personally go for a 28 bore a little further range but like rocking horse shite for £150 and cartridges are exspensive
  15. I have put this back up for sale because through no fault of his own the original purchaser is unable to buy it. As before the first person to come in with a sensible offer can have it.
  16. Sorry gents, I did reply to both of you but my computer has been doing funny things and I have just had to reformat the hard drive.
  17. I have a mk1 ferret finder that i no longer need. It still works and has 3 collars. The first person to make me a sensible offer can have it. I'm not going to make this in to an auction so if I think your offer is fair it is yours
  18. I ferret all year round because i am asked by the farmers but I cant say I enjoy summer ferreting
  19. I went out yesterday evening to shoot over some laid barley. I have seen alot of pigeons on this field over the past couple of weeks and yesterday was the first chance i had to have a go at them. End result 2 hours, 1 shot, 00 pigeons I found out from a random walker who made a Mr Benn like appearance and scared me half to death that someone else had been decoying in the opposite field all day "blasting at anything and everything" So im going to leave it until next weekend and have a go then but this time im going to get there at first light.
  20. I know i'm going to get crucified for this but............ For the past few years I have fed solely dried food and have argued many times with people over the issue and I still stand by some but not all of my reasons but last season I started to feed mainly raw rabbit, pigeon etc etc with the odd bowl of dried every now and then and I have noticed a number of things mainly that the condition of the ferret is better, the coat is shinier and their muscle tone is better, they do not have plaque nor do they drink anywhere near as much. So for me it is raw but I voted mixture because of the occasio

    kit

Lovely looking kit you have there. Not too sure about putting false nails on a ferret though
  22. He has a thick layer of shredded paper and a old pillow case. Changed weekly, all good and warm. He is on his own at the moment, as he is in season and mounting the Jills. He seems fine about himself, running about etc dosent come across as under the weather. No worries that discounts my theory. Hay, straw and wood shaving can irritate their nasal passages with tiny bit getting stuck up them andgiving cold like symptoms, sneezing, runny nose etc etc
  23. What bedding are you using for them?
  24. What are they feeding him molly?
