  1. I voted fox because it used to be such a buzz watching the chase and then the way a good dog finished them off.......... oh memories
  2. It depends really. Hobs are alot calmer than jills as a rule of thumb. My train of thought was that if you were to get a kit you could get over the fear of the bigger ones wriggling and bring it up as you want too.
  3. im out next week end last one if you want to come out to im in the wrexham area but all we cathc i wil let go as ouly out for the fun Ive heard it all now. I had to read that post 3 times to actually believe what i was reading. Do you ever go ratting? If you do that could be really interesting
  4. If you get a kit you can handle it regularly so that it becomes used to it. Then it will just lay limp in your hands while you stroke it. having it as a kit may also get you over your phobia. As for introducing it to your brothers jill, I have found that jills will take to kits very well and all they want to do is mother them, saying that you may want to introduce them on neutral ground. Kits wont be around in numbers for the next few months so can get all the relevant information on health, feeding etc etc and be fully prepared for their arrival. Best of luck
  5. I take my hat off to you Gollum. It's nice to see someone take a ferret to the vet straight away and not wait for a week or two.
  6. I can understand showing adult ferrets that have been used to handling but in my opinion showing kits is just asking for trouble because as we all know kits are used to feeling with their mouths when they are young. Couple this with the stress of having lots of people and different smells and sounds around them, it is just going to end up with someone who dosen't know anything about ferrets getting bitten and then other people getting the wrong impression of ferrets as smelly, bitey, nasty animals.
  7. seems like a good day was had by all. Welldone
  8. i lost a ferret in the december while out ferreting and got a phone call in the march from the farmer saying that he had seen it in the same place as id lost it. Was it the same one?? I don't know but she was a very friendly polecat , just like the one i lost

  12. Stealthy, I think you have just helped alot of people there with your pics. Could you add some showing the pinpoint adjustment while you are at it? It took me a year to get to grips with the mk3. I think Debens literature is a bit confusing for the locator but perseverance does pay dividends.
