  1. Anyone too feeble to handle the weight difference should be looking to change their butcher not the rifle! ?
  2. They aren't that much heavier but much better if you are stringing a few shots together, they don't heat up as quickly as a sporter.
  3. Not such a stupid boy after all! ?
  4. CZs used to be very good value for money but not so much now. I have a CZ in .22 and yes it is accurate but fit and finish leaves a lot to be desired. I used to have a .17 Hornet and that was the same, rough around the edges. They are what they are a cheap eastern european rifle that isn't particularly cheap anymore. The greed of the importers Edgar Bros have made them far more expensive than they ought to be. They have had yearly price increases simply because "they can".
  5. Please accept my condolences. This virus has caused havoc for families up and down the country.
  6. A lad i know had one, it had a 26" barrel, i think it was a model vssf or something like that.
  7. A very good rifle when you have changed the trigger to a jewel or similar, the stock to a Bell and Carlson or similar and the barrel to a Bartlein/sassen etc. ?
  8. I would always go with a steel rail rather than alloy. I believe Tier 1 also do rails. What rifle is it for?
  9. It is a store for shoot related gear. The door was scrap as it had been replaced with a new one, so we re used it as it was perfectly serviceable.
  10. Two of us and my grandson had a walk round this afternoon. We finished with four hen pheasants, one cock (not in the pic) a partridge and eight mallard. Grandson did well he shot four mallard.
  11. I hope you got a calibre specific and not a "one size fits all" job.
  12. Yep! a lot of folk are having a bad time of it lately. Once this virus is under control i hope we can get back to some form of normality.
  13. Looks good and adjustable every way. What make is the stock? No good skimping on gear, buy once cry once!
  14. DM80 made by Dave Mercer. I have his mods on all my rifles. Strippable for cleaning quiet and more importantly structurally very strong. He will also make you a mod to your dimensions for not a lot of money.
  15. Lamps as in peepers, not those quaint things blokes mooch about with after dark.?
  16. What's with the big writing? have your lamps gone altogether now??
  17. I went to Scotland once, it was closed.?
  18. Except driving round with it on the top of the dashboard.?
  19. I know what you are saying and i have skinned and sold my share of foxes in the past. However i am glad the pelts are worthless really because if there was any value in them every Tom, Dick and Billy Bob would be killing them.
  20. For those interested there is a very good set of videos on youtube called "the night crew". It is in Texas and they shoot a lot of bobcats. Well worth watching them as the camera work is superb.
  21. Back in the seventies i advertised a litter of lurcher pups in the exchange and mart, the cmw wasn't about in those days. I got a letter from Lockhearts lurchers two days later asking me to phone him, I didn't have a phone then either. I did phone him from my mothers phone and he wanted to buy the whole litter and would pay for a hire van if i would deliver them to him. I decided to sell them to him less the pup i had picked for myself. Two days later a cheque arrived in the post for the van and pups. I hired a Datsun 120y van and myself and the mrs set off to Hearne Bay. It was an epic journe
