I bought one of those when they where first imported by Hull cartridges. I only kept it for six months because i didn't get on with it. Heavy for carrying and not particularly nice to shoot. I knew nothing of tuning airguns then and that is probably what it needed. I bought a Sharp Ace in it's place and still have it and use it regularly on vermin around the garden.

Foxes, i have killed sixty three this year up to press. Our third shoot today and i took my grandson with the aim of giving him some shooting on pegs that where safe for him to do so. He used his 28 bore armsan semi auto for the biggest part till he ran out of cartridges ( i thought he had more than he actually had ). He then had a few shots with my 20 bore AYA and bagged another couple. Then on the last drive my mate came walking over and handed him his Caesar Guerini 20 bore to try. I put two eley zenith 28grm number 5s in it for him and he turned and smoked a really nice cock bird flyi

I saw fifteen fallow at a place i have to shoot on last week whilst i was foxing. The christmas tree bloke has been on to me as well to go and get rid of the Roe on there. I will have to go because it is a good foxing spot. The good news is i have found an outlet for full carcasses, so apart from gralloching i won't have to dick about with them.

Until you are actually ill and need a lot of care, then watch the premiums rise. I just read about a bloke in the USA that got a dose of covid and had to be ventilated. After his hospital stay he got a bill for $1.3 million dollars. I watched a video last week on youtube about homeless people in the USA, most of them are homeless because they got sick and lost everything. I will stick with the NHS thanks.? -
Nothing here yet but it is very windy. We are shooting tomorrow, should make for an interesting day.

I sent six samples off for analysis last year four came back inconclusive. I contacted the company and they said send samples again and they would process them free of charge. I made sure i sent enough feathers the second time and got results back. One bird you would have swore was a cock, was actually a hen.

Yep, that and the myxy spreaders. Myself and a mate had a spot that had good amounts of rabbits. Two years ago we shot 170 half and three quarter grown ones on summer evenings to eat and give to other people that wanted them. Then along came network rail electrifying the track. Two weeks after they showed up there where dead and dying rabbits everywhere. They had spread myxy.

I know I’m going to regret it .

I also like being a c**t and shrugging it off as"well i am a c**t what did you expect" you knob!? -
The one i had was horrible. I took the lad out that used to own it foxing one night and he hit a three quarter grown cub in the bib at 1oo yds. It didn't kill it and he finished up using the rest of the magazine on it trying to kill it. Then he hit a vixen in the head right between the eyes at 70yds and it just stunned it. It got up eventually and ran off like nothing had happened. That put me right off them for fox. I struggled with it getting an acceptable group in windless conditions and any breeze at all forget it. However the one i had could of been on the verge of being shot out. L

I am not sure yet. Will the wmr be flat enough for me, would i be double disappointed if i decided to try another hmr.
-
I thought it had the "town fox" look about it. Do Gooders eh! They know best.

Looks a skanky specimen

Of course. To be fair the one i had was second hand and may well of been on the verge of being shot out. Edgar bros say they are only good for 7k rounds and i later found out the bloke i had it off was forever out shooting. He would spend ages shooting at targets. I only ever shot winchester 17grn through it because he said that is what it prefered i never tried 20 grn.

Are they quite flat shooting? What weight of bullet are you using in your hmr.

Because i am loading for 30/06, 243, 204. If i take a couple of grandkids out for a bit of hardox fox target shooting they may do 100 rounds between them and i can't really be arsed doing that many every week. I would sooner buy a few boxes of something "oven ready".

To be honest i have written two or three and for some reason the site wouldn't let me post them. I just got a message come up on screen saying error found. I tried to post directly from my documents and even tried doing it piece meal with little success. So it has put me off compiling an account of foxing trips just to have it sat in my document folder.

? Is all i have to say to you. ? I have thought about the 22 hornet having used one before but the reloading puts me off. Amongst other things i would use it for a couple of the grandkids to shoot, so i would be forever reloading. If the WSM was in a different rifle to the current savage it would certainly be a contender but i couldn't live with that savage bolt. I have done the .17 hornet thing and found it really hit and miss to load for. I used lil gun at the time but other people are having better success using different powders now. I once managed to buy quite a lot o

My cert is up for renewal next summer and i still have a slot to fill. I recently filled my 243 slot and i have one for a .22 semi auto plus mod. Now i know i don't want a .22 s/a that's for sure. There aren't the rabbit numbers for that. But i did fancy a rimfire really as i can't be bothered to load for another c/f. I quite fancied a WSM but they only come in a savage rifle that i don't want. I wouldn't mind a Ruger precision but not in .22lr. Whatever i get will need to be fox capable up to 100yds, decisions, decisions!

These two copped it with the usual combination of thermal spotter and n/v scope last friday night.

How quaint! ?

Glad it all went well. It is a hell of a lot of work on a small shoot, more than most shooters think. Good to see you looking all suave and suffocated in your good togs. PS. get yer missus to cut them bits of blue fluff off your socks next time.?

I think we are are paying 250 but it is bagged in 20kilo bags.
