It is time to take the job off the police, they are far too risk averse to be efficient or competent.

I wonder if there will be a days shooting for sale at Stavs, i might pm him! ?
-
I set one of these up for a mate last week for ratting with a Rapid. I thought it was a good little unit. I think if i was to go the add on route that is what i would be looking for.

Ever heard of n/v, you can see "in't dark".?

The weather at our shoot wasn't particularly conducive to having a nice time yesterday morning either. It poured down for the most part. It didn't help matters that i shot badly into the bargain. The annoying thing is i know what i was doing, stopping the gun, but i did it time and time again. Then after we had our dinner the old sun came out and it was a different day. I also had sorted my act out and started killing birds which saved me from sitting in the armchair that night grouching.

It isn't for everyone SD that's for sure.

Que the bloke who thinks electronic callers are a waste of time and all hype, because he has called millions of foxes using nothing more than blowing through the cheeks of his arse! ? ? Foxpro all the way.?
-
It is when the sensor cannot cope with the amount of i/r given and the screen looks like someone is shining a torch back up the lens. In short you cannot see anything.
-
I love shooting in the snow but we just don't get it here.

That sounds like the Digex, be careful because the sensors used are primarily for continental and american pig hunters. They are very sensitive and will "white out" easily.

Well the young un is a fan of the Ruger HMR!

Stav put me down for the fleece pullover please, that is just the sort of thing i wear a lot of. I don't know what size L equates to but i am anywhere between 42" and 63". ? I will pay you for it aswell !

That C50 may do the job paired with one of Clive Wards 940nm lasers. At the end of the day SD isn't going to be taking 200 or 300 yd shots with an HMR. I would think 120yds would be the limit but SD would know better than me on that score.

I am long sighted and have worn glasses from a young age but have never had a problem seeing through anything, the only time I couldn’t see anything was with a green Led lamp. I could see rabbits perfectly with the n/v but not with the green lamp, it was like the rabbits had a cloaking device.?. What faff have you experienced with n/v? I don’t have any faff at all, I simply switch on the scope and laser kill something then switch off, couldn’t be any simpler.

You may well decide it is a lot of hammer to crack a nut and you alone can make that decision. There are a lot of things to consider before switching to n/v. I know for you it is a hobby same as me, do you need to kill every fox that turns up on your patch? Or if a lamp shy slinky shows up will it gnaw at you till you get it or it moves on? Will a considerable financial outlay make you more efficient and make your hobby more enjoyable? How many switched on foxes do you have to deal with every year and does that number justify the outlay? Are you comfortable using that kind of technology o

I had no symptoms at all, tested clear yesterday and again today so i have been out. No Drone for you sonny, yet!?
-
Yes, forget it!
-
If you use a powerful 940nm vcsel laser they won't see it. They are more likely to see someone walking ie: movement . But what are you going to spot lamp shy foxes with? If it is a torch/lamp it's surely defeating the object.
-
They don't see 940nm.
-
I have had that with LED i/rs but never with the vcsel laser.

The mate of mine that has just got the Wulf 4k has two pard 008s and he reckons it is better than they are.
