  10. welcome aboard Mick, how far up are you mate?
  11. well, i kid you not...scoob was hunting goats through the flocks of sheep! and i swear its true!!!! i would put money on it that my dog would not .look at a domestic goat...its just like he will never chase a cat in the street, but if he encounters one in the woods the outcoe is often very different....i feel that a "thinking" dog often knows what you want him to hunt....but thats JMHO...good hunting fellas...JD

if i didnt know you Nov, i would say you were a convicted sex offender!
  14. I tell you another quarry that is a tough nut...Wild Goat. I hunted them several times last season and they were difficult critters to pin. Sure, they are prfetty darm slow when compared to a lurcher, but its once your dog reaches that big, strong billy, with its 2 foot long lyre horns that the problems start. They are not scared of dogs and they will try their damnest to make your dog into a canine-kebab!!!! and i aint kidding!!! the nannies are nothing, but those big boys weigh alot and they live on the harshest terrain too...they are not to be underestimated......one day someone may wri
  15. hi mattg....the dog could be a little under the weather, just like we get sometimes.,...or perhaps it could have knocked itself and you havent realised it.... hope things turn out good.....JD
  16. he he he...its 19.95 + £2 p+p
  17. I find that superdomes, FTtrophy, acupells, penetrators and long range golds are the biz.....the long range golds are very good indeed and i have shot an amount of quarry with it....IMHO you should avoid all flat headed types...forget all that "impact" bollocks and go for a proven accurate pellet that fires good in your gun...the key, as always,is accuracy......you can shoot a pigeon up the arse with a .25 cal doing 50 ft/lb and it wil fly away, you hit that same critter dead on in the brain with your little .177 and its gonna be dead as a dodo...just MHO.....but hey, buy the book and read mo
  18. I will always have fond memories for my first real lurcher "Rocky"..i really loved tnbis dog and he taught me so much, but you know the most important thing he taught me:? never keep a dog that isnt good enough otherwise you will end up feelingsick when you are catching little....when i was younger, i could not imagine a dog being any "better" than rocky, lol, but that is the sheer innocence of youth i guess..but for a general mooching dog he was perfect..i got my first hare, roe, pheasant and fox with him and have some very good memories...my only regret is not having enough pics of him...but
