  2. brilliant!!!!!...one of my firends, deisels dad, was foxing 2 winters ago...like horses do, this one was curiouss and he was stroking it whilst he waited for a fox to break cover...sudenly old charlie starts outn towards his position and he forgot about the horse......he slipped the dog and the horse went mental, kicking him high up in the air and breaking his arm!!!! he laid in the bushes while the dog killed the fox only a few foot away !!! he was in total agony and had to go straight to the hospital.....and yes, we did take the piss!!!!!!! :11: :11: :11: but, looking at it seriously,
  3. it was in the inlet to a lake..in the flowing water
  4. i put a smaller spinner on and pulled in this one....they were all in A1 condition and gave a good fight...we let them all go too...
  5. if i had not have seen it with my own eyes i would not have thought it possible...such a small one too!!! hooked fairly and squarely in the mouth!!!!

  7. Had a spin yesterday evening on some private water....just a bit of fun and good craic.....we got a take every two casts..the no3 mepps did ok
  8. hi rob, i have seen some good saluki greyhounds and some of these would put your average gun dog to shame.....i know some that rarely go on the lead, all rabbits live to hand, kill foxes, pull down -90% of all the deer they run, mark holes and even retreive shot waterfowl out of water.......if you get the right one.....then little will beat it..., obviously, the key word there is "IF".....some good sal/greys will not only feed a family...they could keep your average butcher in meat...so im told anyway....good hunting....JD
  9. 21/22 at 5 months!!! she going to be a good size mate..my bets are on 25"....keep us informed on her progress...she looks the spit of my mates weaton /grey...i will try and get a piccy....good luck/....JD

  11. its my sister that was very close ....but i cannot say i have seen the poor lass for a couple of years.....its weird, it still feels terrible when something like this happens to someone you know (knew)......no doubt the press will use this to attack the bull breeds....
  12. my sister just emailed me and told me that a baby was killed by a dog in leeds in the past one or two days. Apparently it had been on the news, well, i knew the lass who's baby was kkilled, she was a good friend of our family when we were growing up.......terrible news....

    Lamping

lol...i once took a guy out on the lamp to bag a "First" for him..we saw the apir of eyes and i asked him, will your dog run the beam?...oh yes, it will go as far as the beam will.....great, thinks i...so we slipped his dog from yards, it ran about 20 yards and stopped and looked round at us while our quarry high tailed it into the night  just one of the many that can talk a good do, but when it comes to the crunch they un leash a whole host of excuses....

    Lamping

when you travel 2 or 3 hours south for the nights hunting, you need a partner to keep you awake on the way back!!!!..lol... but yes, they are hard to come by....luckily i hunt with some good guys that know the score...you need people you can rely on.....especially when things dont go to plan
  16. you would think they had better things to do.....
  17. You're right Trev..a good friend of mine has a first cross and its coat is smooth. We didnt believe it at first, but apparently it is true and the dog is genuine...and game
  18. had a steady walk last night with scoob..managed 2/3 bunnies, it was great to get out again after being doing nothing for the past5 months or so......there was many rabbits in the fields, but the ground was a bit hard and the temperature was quite warm...saw a lovelly looking fox too...thought it was a deer at first , but when we moved closer we saw it was charlie....unusual thing was that its eyes reflected bluey/green back at me....normally with the fox it is yellow/orange still, it was good to walk the fields again.......good hunting guys....JD
