spot on mate above,, i had little bitch none ped 20in 20lb , true words they give there all deff , i hate reading these type posts, me old heart all ways sinks . But one thing if nothing else ive learnt from bloody running dogs, is get them out as little pups just after there jabs, so they can learn about all stuff they could bump into. Had Buck out from 9 weeks old, day/night he used watch old bryn in the lamp, he knew about woods, etc the lot. i know some types are always full do or die like whippets and few pitxs , but at least if they out young , it might help them once there slipped on

why not go down the route 2- 3rd gen 1x , seen some good racy 1xs over the years , still fast enough to catch stuff no prob. must be some lads with nice 1x dog , thats not over big ,? its funny really regards size of dogs my bullxs were 70- 77 lb 26in quite fast, but my 1x gsd x grey Buck 28 in 90 lb faster top end, and deff more agile than what the bullxs were, but in saying that a lad had 2nd gen 1x pit x grey, that was only 25in about 65 lb , and caught load of stuff, so they few out there, sombody could help you out .

i had this x 1/4 pit 3/4 grey few years back in the 80s , was bred down Brum from joe smith stuff, real good x, fast not bad wind for a 1/4 bred , and enough grit to do foxes / deer, and not bad on rabbits. they are bit full on though, you got your heart in your mouth every time you slipped him, do or die type mine was, it was his down fall in the end , he run into a fence post after a fox, done his shoulder in and chest, he never ran again proper , had to put him down in the end, shame liked the dog. but suppose it could have happened to any type x 1x or what ever lurcher you ran th

Dan from USA who used to come on here , he worked Staghounds , similar to your Oz stags , but were i think from what Dan said his dogs would go up to 29-31 in 100lb in weight , think might be bigger type dogs than your type . But his dogs were line bred going back hundreds of years, there were of main deerhound x greyhound, drop bulldog, in them. And as said on few times the yotes were hard fighters, so needed tough type dogs to grab them, and killing a 35-40lb yote hell lot harder than killing 18 lb fox lol , and i think he said as well, they ran the pups on foxes to start them , befo

suppose really, people with proper proven digging dogs , either pats, or well bred russels , they just stick to there own breeds , and not out x to running dog .But i did see that vid with pat x whippet where they were doing just rats, and they looked great little dogs , fast strong tough little dogs, ok it only rats, not foxes, but ive seen few racing none ped male whippets down the track years ago, 22in 35 lb they pile into foxes no bother , so drop of pat in the mix you have good little fox dogs . As been said on the thread above regards foxing lurchers , there nothing that will be on t

and me if i wanted a foxing was my main quarry , got to be from Generation bred proven dogs . as you say it dont really matter what breeds are in them, but there nothing that will take pain like well bred pit, and foxing dogs get hurt, there all keen at 1st, but soon think about few times, once they been pecked few times . hope you get sorted mate, and get well bred pup or dog .

same here , keep well way from public walks where you meet lot of strange dogs , mine go out from 9 1/2 weeks on wards , and only in where there wont meet nothing else out there ( dogs/ people) by 12 weeks old there be fine then to meet other dog walkers

Yeh that jouko ahola very strong bloke, just looked at his training vid, didn't need exsess weight, like Shaw etc, to lift the weights, just natural raw power, healthy diet, and training.
-
haha , your prob fitter and stronger than alot down there , working and hunting. drag a 145lb dead weight coverd in mud. brambles , through few woods at night soon get your fit or kill you

missed that one Tomo , you got the link ,? yeh old Terry holands , he still does ok dont he, he dropped alot weight, think he took up body/building , then went back to strong man, and put bit back on, but bit lighter than before . i tell you what Tomo , i dont think ( Larry Wheels ) can cut it at strong man stuff, ive watching him on training , ok he got power for his weight, but think he bit light to compete with some of the bigger lads Hathor , Shaw , Hall when he was at it, lad etc
