bird replied to stonewall's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
fair play mate, you got to try stop the scum from getting in your place , or any where near it . they reckon get the abd one that healthy with the right temp , they brill guard dogs, so having that extra bit of apbt in there put that bit more edge to to them , -
and yet they reckon them black german terriers are real good on them , they hold the boar , god knows how they do that then a boar will toss a 80-100 lb dog in the the air like a feckin feather deff

you on about apbt or pressa , pits norm are to people friendly to be a guard dog , if there around other guard breeds they will copy them, gsd, collie, breeds that will bark, pressa great guard dog its natural in them, but from what ive heard the temps are not good and not trustworthy . with bitches in most breeds you get more stable temp, males norm give the probs . a collie or gsd would be enough to guard your place, more so if you had say a well bred pit as back up, thats what i have as i like pits anyway . -

prob not , ive been around lurchers , for 30 odd years now, and being honest prob still keep one, until i can't walk them no more, i see lots of other type dogs on me walks differnt breeds there ok , but having lurcher just knocking about with me even as pet i am happy , prob feel lost with out one now lol . i pob get something about Bryn size, he 11 this year, Buck 6 this year , so say couple years i might get one then, might be bitch somthing with some bull in it, ive always got on better with a bullx temp, than a herding x type , thats just me, but you never know what arou

top advice that , like you been around bull breeds long while , had had staffs in the 60s that were like a some pits of today, had bullmastiffs , and my last bull breed was nice big pit bitch in the 80s , she was ok with other dogs, as long as they were ok with her. my worst dog for dog and, people aggression was a kelpie x collie x grey bitch, she was nightmare would attack any dog if it came to close, was ok with me but nobody else , put her down in the end to dangerous to dogs and people , she was nuts deff. your right though all dogs are differnt in temp , Bryn my old 1x collie x

great pics , yeh good job you had them on a lead mate , i lost Buck my big dog few years ago , he seen some fallow deer by wood , he was gone 1 feckin hour , came back to car , long hour that was , love that pug, he looks quite healthy , when i had bull breeds i nearly had one for in the house, but there were like bullmastiffs that they had lot of health probs. there nice x there breeding now , ok it just a money thing , but deff they be lot more healthy than a ped pug, and that is a ( beagle x pug ) seen few on on me walks , nice little friendly fit little dogs , make great pets

+2 ok mate glad you back in the nut house lol -
would you say Henry , to kill the racoons you might be better of with dog with more bitting power , so it do the job that bit more quicker, in that way it more humane and the dog get less hurt . dont get me wrong i thing your bitch does great job on all the quarry she shown , and as you say she got the guts to tackle any quarry. but suppose if not doing them regular it dont really matter , i think there was vid of a old time hunter , he had plott hound x apbt bitch , it just looked like a big pit 24-25in say , but bloody hell you could see the biting power in it, he said the coon
