  1. I did it the first time but haven't done it since, now I'm the only one on my street that doesn't do it n feel like victor meldrew
  2. Pure scum no need for any of that at all feel for your mate and hope Kama catches up with them real soon..
  3. Iv watched them train very tough determined men unbelievable n as you say what they have done for us is amazing, the ones that get through is the biggest achievement and reward for there families and the ones that don't really is like the end of the world, really means the world to them to serve us and will die trying to get there respect to all army personnel but defo can't forget the tough old Gurkhas aye
  4. Bonny pup Ross n nice place for a mooch plus river jumpin for the kids can't beat it..
  5. Let's just say he has more of a minshaw stamp than a typical collie stamp yes..
  6. Very nice look very well lads especially for the offseason
  7. I would call that don a lurcher that is bred out of a line bred dog put an out cross as in the collie being the outcross but thats jmo I don't know what Andy refers to him as and iv never seen don run however Iv seen him at his house and I do like the look of him he's some stamp of a dog, so as you say if he's 3/4 collie and still has a stamp like he has then that tells me that that 1/4 minshaw in him is very dominant but again jmo .
  8. For me I see them as a type to all these years later having that certain stamp so imo all that line breeding and inbreeding that they did back then through quite a dominant line, even dogs I have seen that only a little minshaw in them you can see minshaw traits in them, other than that joe it doesn't go much deeper than that I like the minshaw dogs iv seen and the couple that I have owned, there guys out there that have done a lot more with them than I have I'm just talking from my own experience with them.
  9. As I said for me personally it's just a name nothing more nothing less but when you refer to the name minshaw people know which dogs your talking about you don't refer to your own dogs as minshaw and that's fair enough especially with you having your bull bitch in there so to you yours are collie bull greyhounds your own stuff as you stated and separate from this thread but there's still other lads that like to think back on them as minshaws or minshaw types weather they have either good or bad experiences of them i don't think it's a case of trying to get a better lurcher just what people lik
  10. Fair point tomo and good luck for the future..
  11. Good pic tomo hypothetically speaking would you have a dog with minshaw blood again if the right stuff came along..
  12. Shame to hear chipper passed he wasn't so old was he rest in peace..
  13. One other thing I like about minshaws is not only the dogs but also the men that ran them they was mad n you was just in stitches all the time amd although the gear had to be there but due to there game dauntless ways I personally believe that this behaviour was also a big factor of there being so much gear put away with these dogs, i even remember one being caught in a farmers garden "long story" light came on then security light but never any rush or panic ?, it was there life no normal jobs or anything just doggin doggin doggin wereever whenever good times indeedy..
  14. I don't know mate he's a character tho isn't he ? and keen I mean he lives right down south but will travel anywhere to run his dogs he was up the fens for daytime that day ran the lamping competitions meting up all over with various forum member think the man went all over lol so think his dogs must see abit of work n as said one of the games characters.
  15. As you say just debate and with debate comes compromise you to?
  16. Not upset or taken offence I don't get upset so easily but thank you
  17. No need to get on the defensive iv not been rude to you in any of my posts have I? As for my pants being in a twist there not and I have no problem with anybody that doesn't like them or any other breed I keep saluki x's but don't care one little bit if others don't like them why would I as iv said it is there prerogative but you have shown quite an interest in minshaws on this thread so I was wondering if that is from a personal account and what is was that you didn't like about them and if it was from actual experience or hearsay I think it's a reasonable and plausible question, like any cro
  18. Have you owned or ran a minshaw type then poxon and if so what were the things that you didn't you like about them.
  19. Just watch the heat this time of year not always easy if you live in the countryside n enjoy the fields but I like to swim my spaniels in summer but lurchers not at all interested in water.
  20. Always like them off when possible with running dogs were as with my spaniels I don't tend to worry as much..
  21. And that's fair enough then joe, as for me il always have an interest in them the ones I seen I rated the half x I owned was becoming decent and the one I have now although only abit of of the blood in him is handy just a shame some of the good stuff got into the wrong hands but as said that unfortunately happens with all crosses.
  22. Ah yes it was Bulpa off the collie wasn't it, and as for the dogs off unknown origin then begs the question how did they throw so much true to type over the years surely them lads must have known something we don't..
