  1. yes he was off a full collie wasn't he i know what your saying I don't think there's many full ones about is there or has been for a long time, but with dogs of today still possessing the same stamp surely it shows how dominant the line was especially back in the day, anyway your dogs are a credit to you and you've done well with them regards hunting and the breeding but they are a type surely as I'm sure they'll still be throwing similar to each other for you for years to come.
  2. Eh not sure about what you mean there, I only know what you've told me no one else, of course you had your own breeding as well but you did put a minshaw dog over your bitch and since then have line bred and inbred those dogs and prevent day they look like the old stamp of the minshaw that's all I'm saying and I like them, what I'm struggling with is how they are not a type there certainly not scatter bred are they?
  3. Always interesting to see we're dogs descend from and family trees if possible but as long as they can do there job on the field that's were a true pedigree is made, some Salukis stash some lampers yap bull x's jack collies stalk but there obviously not all like that, I don't mind people not liking minshaws or coursing dogs course I don't and I'm not into bull crosses but I wouldn't go on a bull x thread knocking the types or a type I don't actually have actual experience of I just don't get that , there's good and bad in all dogs pures or crosses and like old Phil Lloyde would say, atb to all
  4. Feck knows never even met the man personally lol
  5. Jack was born over 20 year ago and your present dogs look like him as well as some of your dogs offspring, you have also line bred and inbred your dogs having all bred down from jack, so putting the name minshaw to the side how are they not a type genuine question.
  6. There all just a name tho regardless of lines same as men just a name but that's what there known for isn't it, I don't think anyone cares about the name minshaw it's the dogs but if folk just referred to collie bull greyhounds etc knowone would know what they actually meant were as say minshaw and people know, as for not being a line or type I beg to differ there was a lot of line breeding and inbreeding going on in the older days and the pups certainly bred true to type, even a couple of your own dogs look just like jack.
  7. He's a nice strong well put together dog mate like him..
  8. Exactly and the same for a lot of other lines..
  9. Didn't I say it's your prerogative and everyone's entitled to there own opinions in the post above? As for you keep harping on about them being mongrels well they are lurchers and all lurchers are mongrels who cares, if you found a stray lurcher which looked like an absolute Heinz 57 and despite your best efforts couldn't reunite it with its former owner or find out anything about it but therefore then decided to keep it and try it and it turned out to be a world beater, would you then get rid of that dog because you would never ba able to find out any info as to were that dog came or ori
  10. Seems like you have a big dislike for them which of course is your prerogative , have you owned one or even seen them run, obviously a forums all about discussions n debates but if you genuinely don't like them why bother reading the thread and leave it to them that have a genuine interest in them weather that by curiosity or those with fond memories of times in the field with them.
  11. Don't think it really matters if they are a specific line of lurcher or not or even if people care, as you say same with coursing coursing dogs similar types best to best put together to produce dogs of the same caliber and they now breed true to type and people into there coursing like to read about them the same as the those minshaw dogs as someone else said you could tell a minshaw dog from the stamp a mile off and people into there lamping have always had an interest in them as said love or loath them some were very good with a great stamp to them imo and no not all would have made the gra
  12. Good post and a true one but that goes for any line of dog or type..
  13. Still bumming the names up in 2020 as a sales pitch?, were are these litters you talk of tell me il buy one if there right? Iv not heard of any good litters for years
  14. Good thread for the most part without the bickering n some smart well put together dogs love them or loathe them a lot did what they was bred for n filled many a freezer back in the day.
  15. Blue baws member on here keeps good working stock if I was after a genuin beddy lurcher type I'd contact him to see if he has anything in the pipe line or maybe knows someone who has good luck.
  16. It's mental some of the prices dogs n pups have been going for lately but numb nuts are buying them especially bitches to churn out another litter out of them poor dogs I don't have a problem with one or two litters out of a decent dog but mainly pets getting put in pup year after year feel sorry for em..
