Sorry to hear of the loss. Now i dont want this to sound harsh, but its also a learning opportunity, i always take instances like this in, you never know when the knowledge could save another hunting companion. Poor little critter, never good to lose a furry friend

Ive always thought of myxi as somewhat like a flu, it comes in waves, wipes a lot out, those who survive go on to breed and everythings ok for a while, til another wave comes along and repeats the process. I do think its getting less overall compared to 10-20 years ago, back then it seemed to completely obliterate the furries for a good long while, this might just be my faltering memory though. Had a small amount of myxi locally this year, very very localised though

At my mates land there was 5 hives within 200 yards. They took over every bird box and even made a hive in his old tractor. Bloody everywhere this year, i also had some at my sons house in the ventilation bricks

the law keeps society right, legislation merely makes criminals. a decade ago i could have done over 3600 more things without being convicted. The government needs to learn the concept of moderation.

by definition of a custom it is definately custom (a sport can be a custom), i think the key is in the wording of the Act. If it was decided that the act was not expressly concerning fox hunting then fox hunting can be argued as custom, if thats the case it supersedes the hunting act, due to the acts vague nature. Its one of the long forgotten rights we have in this country, sometimes its these things that can be overlooked, i havent heard anyone use this argument yet so thought itd be an idea to post it on here.

ermmmm....not sure were i should post this but i thought id try here, While reading some law books it appears there is the law of custom within the UK, which could prove useful in repealing the hunting act. Im taking this from Odger s "The common law of england volume 1". The law of custom actually supercedes any statute law....well i think its best i just quote the law book itself (and yes this law is still valid today) 'A local custom may be defined as a usage which "has obtained the force of law, and is, in truth, the binding law Within a particular district, or at a particular place,

The stuff didnt used to give the red shites to the dogs, a friend was using it and it was about 6 month ago he got a bag, you could see the difference in the food, you can see some of the red crap in the bottom of the bag, weird powdery crap. As everyone says, went straight through the dogs, red shite and stinks worse than owt else. Ive always fed fresh rabbit, some sneyds wonderdog dry food and once a week he has only a small amount with an raw egg mixed in. hes in good condition. Wouldnt dare use waggs on me own dogs, my mate change food supplier andh ad no problems since. Maybe the price

please do some research, not look in an english dictionary, Look in blacks Law Dictionary at least. look the for the legal definitions. write to the ministry of justice. i'l even help you out by supplying the link http://www.justice.gov.uk/about.htm or email general.queries@justice.gsi.gov.uk. Use your bloody head. sometimes im amazed at the short-sightedness of some people -
legal jargon is what keeps you enjoying the sport your in, The RSPB have admitted that their interests contradict those of all falconers in the UK. its in black and white. Stick your head in the sand all you want and for all i care you can stick it where the sun dont shine, who are you to say noone else finds his threads of any interest? Do you believe the fight should be behind closed doors and for only a handful to be able to know whats happening? If so you should be in a different sport, if not country. The whole point of democracy is the public should be able to have a voice, currently w

Wildlife and Countryside Act (the defunct legislation)
bhawk replied to bhawk's topic in General Talk
why do some archaic laws still stand unable to be changed or reworded by some minister. ie the court in the new forest or somewhere or those nice people that own those forest dwelling ponies and round them up every year??? Just curious why some can be changed and others can't. I believe that would depend on whether there has been more recent legislation to outlaw or change the existing laws. No past law is unchangeable. We are in the European Union by an Act of our Parliament, if that Act were to be repealed, we would not legally be an EU member. Another example is Habeas Corpus Ac -

Just curious why some can be changed and others can't. its down to the fact we have common law, we have many liberties granted to us by the monarchy. the biggest problem people have with understanding all this is that statutes are NOT LAW, merely given "force of law" by "consent of the governed". Our rights include our right to travel, our right to contract our labor -

this is not parliament, parliament creates legislation, the monarchy create laws. statutes cannot overpower law, statues are meant to reflect common law. please look into the subject before leaving uninformed replies -
In the attestation DEFRA and police officers take it states they are to uphold fundamental human rights, this oath is then broken by any enforcement of the wildlife and countryside act which contradicts human rights by stating that a suspect is guilty until he proves himself innocent. The most significant clause of the Statute of Tallage is Chapter Four, where the Crown promises never to impose laws that infringe any common law rights or liberties, the wildlife and countryside act also contradicts this law. Furthermore "We will and grant for us and our heirs," states King Edward’s Act, "th
