another use for the ferret in the past was to steal things, train them up to retrieve coins, due to their size they could be entered into a house easily enough.....gonna train mine to collect notes then slip it through a load of catflaps lmao

myxamitosis is a disease, was natural to our rabbits american counterparts the cottontails which only gave them a minor illness, someone brought it over here and released it to our rabbits on purpose and the results of it are devastating, its passed in a variety of ways and in the 50's destroyed the idea of eating rabbit which had for a long time been the staple meat of the uk (which is now chicken i believe) it kills the animal slowly, robbing it of its senses and causes pain and suffering, the rabbits eyes go all gooey, the anus and genitals can become swollen, the rabbits muscle rots away,

everyone has their own personal tricks when it comes to ferreting, just wondering what these are, lately i tried a new trick which was purely experimental, when putting young ferrets to a hole they wouldnt go down, so i slid my hand in the whole and rub it along the floor to the entrance (yes i was wondering if my scent would stop rabbits bolting but hey it was an experiment) it turned out the ferrets went down first time every time and it didnt stop the rabbits bolting in the slightest which is what really surprised me. so whats peoples little tricks and traits?

you can eat myxi rabbits but id rather not, myxamitosis means the whole body seems to rot away, there is very little muscle on myxi's and pussy features really dont do it for me on my food. must say i havent seen a myxi rabbit for nearly a year now, it seems to come in waves round here and a lot more rabbtis are surviving it nowadays. in one way myxi's are good as a quick enter for a dog to build their confidence but theres no actual sport in myxi's i've caught them many times by myself.

one of mine had a fight with a rat, looked like he'd been in a fight with a rottweiler! those rats certainly give as good as they take, hence why i dont like using my ferrets for rats!

my old jill is a legend in her own right, amazing pet and worker very fussy she was, would only drink from my large green mug and lived in my drawers but she always used the litter tray, as for working she may not have bolted the most but she was just a joy to be around, when she had kits at half 3 in the morning in her favourite draw (i made sure that my stuff had been evacuated from the drawer beforehand) she allowed me to handle them straight away, i wouldnt of but she actually pulled my finger in with her mouth so i think she mistook me for a kit, she only ever had small litters too, 3 bei

problem is people are willing to shoot their mouths off before they have enquired as to all the facts of certain incidents. why not put forward that you hav heard...by hear'say! certain things and withhold judgement untill you have the facts, anything else is a premature certainty and that can be a dangerous thing. derek i am still working on the information you wanted, sorry about the delay ive just moved house but i should have most done by this saturday or sunday.

aye i remember when that happened ive worked for mark for a long time and am very close to him, at the time the bird went missing i was looking for 18 hours a day non-stop walking (with 1 hour rest) although i had to pop off to another breeding project at the time so i missed meeting all the people that came to help, we got the bird back though! and yes the hack pen is amazing, i remember doing the maintenance on it (you saw how big it was just imagine looking for the tiniest holes in every part of the net!) as for him being set up it was worse than the clip shows and also in my opinion defra
